Save Me
"You’re such a pussy," Drew rolls his eyes as he lights his blunt.
"I thought you were a ‘cool girl’, (Y/N)? What happened," he mocks you in a teasing way. You wanted to be a ‘cool girl’ not that you were one. It made you mad that he had the nerve to say that to you. You scrunch your eyes in anger. You didn’t come here to smoke, you came to see if he was ok after seeing what happened between him and his girl. High school was not something you loved and you were a shy girl, quiet and what not a shy girl would be. You got good grades, well tried with school being so hard nowadays. You did the opposite of Drew and you’d never understand why you ran after him that day.
"I’m sorry I’m nothing like you. I just came to check on you but obviously none of that matters. It was a bad idea coming here anyways," you get up with a sigh of hurt and anger. You never understood what Drew had against you but it didn’t matter anymore. You grab your bag, ready to fling it over your shoulder but a hand came in contact with yours.
"Wait," Drew grabbed your hand and pulled on you from his spot on the ground in the alley between the school. This was the hide out for people that skipped or wanted to smoke. It wasn’t the place for you but you wanted to check on the lonely boy.
"Why do you care so much? No one ever does," he pulls you back down and you huff as you fall back onto your spot on the ground.
"I care because," you couldn’t think of a valid reasoning for your caring manner for the underestimated boy. He moves his head in a way of saying ‘go on’ but nothing came to your mind quick enough.
"Can’t I care about someone without a reasoning behind it?"
"No," he takes a drag off his blunt and blows the smoke in your face. You cough and look away from his direction.
"I care because you look like you need someone, ok," you needed someone more than he did.
"I think I’m doing pretty good on my own. Don’t cha’ think?" He faces shows signs of irritation and many other things. You knew he wasn’t doing good and that’s why you came to check if he could make it through the rest of the day.
"No. No, you’re not doing good and I know she broke you. She broke what makes you who you are and she broke what was most of you. Something that made you the heartless bastard you are today. Right? She broke you and you thought she wouldn’t, you thought you’d never be broken, correct? Because you’re such a badass, huh? You know Drew, you’re nothing and I think what happened to you was great. You need a lesson for once," your blood pulsed through your veins in fast movements. Adrenaline coming to an all time high. You were mad that he had could be so rude and heartless to everyone without a reason. It made you mad because he was altogether an asshole yet expected to never be hurt.
"I think I should go," as Drew silently stared at you, you became uncomfortable and guilty of your words.
"You’re right, though. You are," he whispered to himself in a way of not just telling you but maybe trying to convince himself that it was a lesson. That maybe it wasn’t the girls fault but yet his own. For years on, Drew then realized that you were just the missing part to his life. You made him grow and learn the parts of life he skimmed over. By the time he realized, you were already taken. You were happy but a part was missing. Maybe it was the fact Drew treated you right or maybe it was just that high school attraction, but you were slowly losing interest in the boy you had. It became hard to go on with yourself knowing he was out there wanting you and you were with another boy, he’d soon move on himself.
One day you got in a dumb argument about how Drew was tired of waiting after admitting the feelings you already knew he had. You were upset that you fought over something so little, making Drew walk out on you. You were so upset, you grabbed your favorite bottle of alcohol and got ready to drink your feelings away. You were tired of doing everything wrong and you were just ready to get away altogether.
So, as you chugged your alcohol from your spot on the ground, you knew it was time to work everything out. You were tired of fighting any longer and you realized all you need was Drew in your life. More than just friends at that. You stand up, wobbling and staggering on the way. You walk down your driveway to Drew’s house, bottle in hand. It was only ten or maybe three. You didn’t know, nor did you care. You circle your block twice before you realized you were on your way to Drew’s. You finally get to his house and yell out side his house.
"You know Drew, you have an awesome voice. I mean singing wise and… and I thought I could maybe sing one for you. I’m not good but I'll try it," you start singing random words and after a few minutes of realizing Drew wasn’t there you pick up stray rocks and throw them at his window.
"Hey, big head! Wakeup! It’s early and time to party," you chug the rest of the bottle and throw it in the grass.
"It’s time to party," you whisper to yourself as your mood completely changed. Tears engulf your eyes as you realize just how much you’ve screwed up. You go to his steps to sit and you put your hands on your face. You let the tears fall free as the porch light turns on and you turn your head to see a shirtless Drew only in boxers, eyes squinted.
"What are you doing here, (Y/N)?"
You quickly stand up and watch Drew’s every move. You wipe the tears but it was no use as they fell. Your feet shuffle together as you stare at the ground, arms crossed.
"I’m so dumb, Drew. You’re so amazing and I let you go. I realized just how much I need you and want you. I’ve always wanted you, Drew, and once I had you, I let you go. It’s so dumb. I’m so dumb. I probably seem like an asshole," you sniffed and looked up to Drew. "But I love you and I want nothing more than to have you."
You stand and wait for Drew to do something, anything, but it seemed like it wasn’t going to come any time soon.
"I knew I was too late. Maybe I should just go home," you wipe your nose on the oversized long sleeve shirt. You turn around with your head to the ground, ready to walk away. Before you can go far, hands grab you and you're flung into a body. His lips move on yours, your arm between both chests. The kiss meant more than any kiss you had with your boyfriend. This moment meant more than your whole relationship with your rebound.
"You walked here in no pants?" He looked worried and you shiver as the wind swept between you two. You shrug as you remember not putting any on because you felt restrained.
"Why wear clothes when you can be free," you whisper, hands still between both chests as your fingers work on shrugging the sleeves of the shirt down past your hands. You push Drew back a little and stumbles. He takes the hint and walks in the house, you trailing behind. You both rush to his room and you push him on his bed. You throw your shirt across the room and you go straight for Drew’s lips. His hands travel up your bare back since you weren’t wearing a bra either.
"You taste like alcohol," he moaned in your mouth. You don’t say anything as your head moves to the crook of his neck and you lay there, doing nothing to him. He soon realized you fell asleep on him. Your arms drape over his body, legs doing the same. He groans as you left him with a hard on that was just getting harder as he finally comprehended you were his now. Also the feel of you on him and your hard nipples against his chest was making his mind go crazy. You snore in his ear and he sighs, knowing he wasn’t getting anything tonight but that was ok because he finally got what he waited so long for. He finally saved the lost soul looking for a home. He always knew all you needed was someone but he knew he was no good for you and that’s why he left you alone for years. He noticed you when you thought you were no one and he notice every little thing. You were too pure to corrupt and that’s why he waited for you. He waited years for YOU to notice him. And you did, at the right time. You changed him. You saved him and he saved you. Saved to be saved as you’d like to think.
—————————————— Sorry it took so long. I got carried away towards the end but I hope you like it.
