There are a lot of people who believe that Johnlock was in the plan from day one, and MF and BC were in on it, but then by S3/S4 that changed and we got... S3/S4. But the cast and writers have said, 'oh no, we were never queerbaiting, John and Sherlock were always just bros.' I bet MF and BC signed some non-disclosure agreements so that's why they can't talk about it. I had this really weird prophetic vision: you and I and the rest of fandom are going to be old- like in our 80s- sitting around in rocking chairs or whatever old people do in the future and Martin Freeman is going to be giving this interview and just say, "you know what? F it. I'm old and I dont give a shit about NDAs anymore," and just DISH and the TRUTH WILL FINALLY BE TOLD and we will all be very satisfied old people.

Oh ABSOLUTELY re: the NDA’s, and that’s the sad and lowkey frustrating thing about it all. Their contracts probably included NDAs – which we know that they have done with audiences for pre-screenings so FOR SURE all the actors will have NDAs – which probably has a “time limit” clause or something. I genuinely believe that B&M thought they were playing Johnlock – otherwise WHY ACT LIKE THAT – and given both their general disappointment with S4, I do think it turned out differently than they thought it was going to – or at least thought S4 was not the way they should have went.

But that’s me being a Gossipy-Gale or Tinhat-Trudy. So don’t take my word for it. It’s just weird that we went from TAB to... that.

I hope we do eventually find out what happened behind the scenes, but I don’t think we will.
