It’s a powerful boost to your self-confidence when you look in the mirror and your receding hairline and desperately thinning hair are replaced with a great looking hairline and great hair density. I’m no longer self-conscious about how I look to other people and most importantly I don’t fear the future.  After 20 long years of watching my hair thin and feeling like it was completely out of my control, Dr. Gabel and his wonderful staff really helped me start a new chapter of my life.  I still find it incredible that hair restoration surgery exists and that it’s so effective at changing lives. My details. I’m 46 years old and had a deep recession in my temples and very thin hair in the back. I had 3000 grafts: 1500 FUE grafts to the crown on day 1 and 1500 FUE grafts to the front hairline on day 2.  I am thankful to Dr. Gabel for the careful extraction of every graft personally and for placing every graft along the front hairline and a large percentage of all the grafts along-side his experienced staff. Recovery was no problem and their aftercare, as well as aftercare instructions, were awesome.   The risk of infection is always a risk with any kind of surgery and I knew to go into this that by having a 2-day surgery my risk for infection was higher.  Although rare, I ended up having an infection in my temple area.  Dr. Gabel was really on top of it. I live several hours away from the Gabel Center and exchanged photos and emails every day.  He even flew out to my location to inspect my grafts personally to get me off antibiotics as quickly as possible.  His constant communication, care, and attention was spectacular in this situation.  If you have hair restoration surgery, plan to stay for several days after as they recommend because they will keep a close eye on the healing process, wash your hair, and you can simply focus on resting.  Now that my hair has grown back in, I can see that there was no damage from the infection and that the hair is even and dense throughout the affected region. If you’re considering hair restoration, it’s really important to have a consultation with Dr. Gabel because he’s the one that is going to be able to tell you what treatment options are best for you, if you’re a good candidate hair restoration, as well as make a plan for maintaining your hair into the future.
