Gillivas a Golden Orb Weaver Drider

More info below:

Gillivas specs in healing silk, so he became known as a doctor despite not having any training.

Driders are not the most welcomed anywhere, due to their horrible reputation of being very dangerous/violent and especially territorial. It’s the spider fear gone overdrive. Gillivas was born in a country not accepting of driders and was eventually run out of his initial home.

He found a new home in a field of giant tulips, it had once been a grand place of magic, now faded only leaving the giant flora behind. It’s history forgotten with time.

There was a village on the other side of the forest the field was next to. He thought it was enough distance that he’d never see encounter them. He was wrong, an injured villager came stumbling near us home, badly wounded from a hunt gone wrong. Gillivas didn’t have the heart to let them die, so he mended their wounds with his silk and gave them shelter. When the villager awoke, they were terrified and immediately ran away. Gillivas wasn’t sure if they’d come back with pitchforks to run him away or hire a hunter group, but he didn’t want to leave his new home, so he made the decision to stay but with baited breath. He did go a little crazy spreading web everywhere to have an alarm system just in case.

Well, turns out the saved villager gave him good reviews, because the next people that came were an injured person and the one that carried them there. Turns out the village is very remote with no doctor, so he was there best option. Again, he treated them, they paid them in food (they were poor but he also doesn’t understand money so he was cool with it.) Eventually he became known as the town doctor, people came to him for everything, despite him insisting he has no knowledge on illness they come anyway. He tries his best tho. Eventually he’s a loved member of the community and the people will fight any monster hunter that would threat to kill Gillivas. Drider silk is very valuable, especially the healing or strong/fire resistant kind, so they are also hunted for their silk glands. As there’s a spell that keeps them functional after death for a while.

This doesn’t fit anywhere in the backstory smoothly so it’s at the end haha:

Yo just imagine for a sec- drider Todoroki. Humans, to him, aren't prey- I like to believe that he feeds more on things like deer and foxes. But you are just so cute! He likes to observe you as you carry about your daily life, and the little gifts you leave them (which aren't actually intentional) are so sweet! But you are also so fragile, it's a wonder you managed to survive this long. Don't worry, he'll take care of you~ (I'm writing this with anon off because you never get my anon asks oof)

Todoroki would have to subdue you a few times with his venom, knowing how panicked you would be when he finally snatches you up. He saves all of the cute things you left him too! Those pencils you’ve dropped, that keychain charm, that necklace pendant- all of it! He loves the gifts you’ve given him!

You’ll be wrapped up so gently in his cave while he cares for you, protecting your from the harsh world outside from now on until the end of time. How you survived? He has no idea! You’re too sweet for the foes and fiends outside of his own little domain.

Todoroki is confused hearing these panicked words of pleas coming from you once you become lucid. Are you still confused on who the enemy is? It’s them! The nagas, the half breeds, the scorpions! Not him! But perhaps you were still just coming out of a stooper- his venom is rather strong for a small magnificent creature such as you. He can forgive your cries and outbursts for now!

Todoroki does like to capture deer, but he knows your sweet heart couldn’t handle watching him kill them, so he simply does it outside the web and brings it back for you to consume- which at first you don’t and that’s when he learns another great tool fire could be used for besides maiming potential enemies .

He’s super protective and aggressive when it comes to anyone coming near you, but flips sides when it’s just you and him, showering you in love and praise while you’re wrapped up and half awake from his constant use of venom. Perfect and able to be compliant to his demands now that you have no choice but to obey or be bitten.
