gjhfka as a matter of fact,, i do!! so much more that idk what to share first;;ah who am i jokin, im sunshine 3rd years garbage do ill start w/ them, their “Stats”, position, and dynamic i think
Dia: setter, captain, number 6 bc it’s perfect just like her
loves volleyball like she was born for it. as a result, she practiced and studied volleyball a metric fuckton, at every chance she got, since middle school and possibly even before then.
which means she’s good at literally everything volleyball, except, her bane, midair spikes, the attacking kind. no one knows why she’s so bad at it since she can spike-serve just fine, so it is a mystery and will be forever probably.
(Kanan thinks it’s because her upper body is kinda naturally noodlier than normal, but that’s Kanan)
so she’s really 100% setter material, and when she sees that this is her calling she just Is Dia and gets even better at it
literally will do everything she can to improve her teammates play. she’s good at academics because she knows team members get club suspensions when their grades are bad and she will tutor any bad noodles if need be
her hair is cut short so it doesnt touch the damn net for a penalty
she really wants to see Kanan or Mari face off against Eli. ponytail vs ponytail. blonde vs blonde. dia wants her heart to rip in two
Kanan: outside hitter, vice captain, number 3 bc mari keeps 👌ing and dia wont stop referring to everyone with -san
isn’t as in-love with volleyball as Dia, but she makes up for it by loving her teammates like family!! she and dia are like parents in that they both want their volleyball family to be the best they can be and are willing to help however they can
in contrast to Dia, kanan has a naturally strong upper bod. in the club, her spikes are the most powerful
she plays left wing spiker (her personal terminology preference) because she’s Dia’s number two
her strengths are spiking and defensive play, while for most everything else she’s just about a lil above par for the team
personally she’s having trouble w/ the fact that she’s not as good at leading the team in the middle of play, and she has trouble seeing that she’s the most effective pseudo-coach in the team even if everyones droppin hints
she has fans who take pictures of her during matches
her hair is reeaallllly long like the usual kanan. she puts it in a tight bun during matches to avoid penalties and dia’s wrath.
Mari: opposite hitter, honorary vice vice captain, number 9 bc ideally she’d be standing to the right of #6, dia
because her seiyuu is left-handed, she, too will be left-handed for the purposes of this au. it helps with playing on the right side and makes dia see her as the perfect fit for her KanaDiaMari Death Triangle
she met kanadia in middle school, but she only met them in first-year high school when they needed to scout for potential Amazing Spikers.
because she met them late, Mari starts off a bit more reserved and not as SHINY!! as we know her today
but kanan is her own brand of shiny and she gets a competitive-confrontational streak from dia. there’s more trait osmosis the more she plays with them, and shes a fast learner so she goes through a big change in attitude thru volleyball
mari is offense overkill. she can aim while serving, she’s good at reading the court for good sets in case dia can’t, and her spikes are high and hard to block.
on the other hand, her defensive play needs some work. her receive is a little shaky and her reaction times are sometimes slow. she’s good at blocks by virtue of being tall and jumping high
kanan and dia are in charge of the team. mari is in charge of making sure they dont overwork themselves
dia personally taught her how to serve while she was still starting out, which is also how they established the dynamic where they pick on each other and also egg each other on. as a result, Mari turned into a better server than Dia
as a Death Triangle, Dia wants to have Kanan for left-side spikes, Mari for right-side spikes
there’s still actually a lot more for the whole aqours but that i think is material for a whole other post?? w/e here they are
