Drunk driving at it’s best when death occurs. Please take a second to read atleast the first paragraph
Luke Beyer 02.09.1993 - 27.05.2011
(from left to right, luke, dylan and luke beyer)
Luke was 17, with his birthday coming up in a few months.
It was a friday night and he had just finished work, he was working because I was sick and he covered my shift.
And when he was asked to work a extra hour that night he said yes again, even though he had plans with his three best friends to go out to the movies.
He worked the extra hour, went home and then later drove to pick his friends up from the movies, because, lukes the kind of guy who will do anything for his friends and family even if he really doesn’t have to.
Him and the boys were in the car driving to drop of their friend johnny, they were meant to go do something but for some reason they decided to drop johnny at home first, this decision changed their life. Johnny had just got inside when he heard a huge crash, he came out side to see this;
Johnny looked on to see one of his bestfriends in pain. Luke hardly. As you can see the other car had hit lukes side exactly. An ambulance was called and so were the Beyer family. The police had to keep lukes friends back from trying to yell at the driver of the other car, because you see he wasn’t any driver he was a drunk driver not only was he drunk he was also a learner.The driver of the car had not a single scratch on him, only the innocent were the ones that got hurt Because of this guys poor choice to drink and drive, the whole community lost an angel.
This tree is right next to where the accident happened, the white fence you see is the fence that his car went through. A bucket of white paint was put out for people to dip there hands in and leave a hand print to show their love for luke, pictures and notes are left there everyday, it amazes me that even a month on there is still fresh flowers there everyday, his memory is burning so strong.
At his funeral, there wasn’t a single dry eye, not one.
There was so many people at his funeral that people had to stand outside, they couldn’t even fit inside the chapel, over 500 people attended!
An amazing man named Tom Davies started a foundation in memory of Luke called Enough is Enough , please take a second to check out the facebook page. They have raised over $5800 just with two donation tins at where he used to work, and two events (the celebration of luke beyer’s life, and a car cruise in remembrance of luke)
The Enough is Enough foundation put on an event, a celebration of lukes life.
Over 2,000 people gathered at the peace park (at the school across from the accident site where luke went to school is a war memorial park) everyone brought a balloon to release, a speech was given and then the balloons were released as everyone yelled out ‘Beaver Fever’ because his nick name was beaver, to hear all those people and see all the balloons was really amazing, I will never know someone that was as loved as luke is.
Now can you understand how many people cared about luke? the whole community of ballajura loves luke, everyone knew him. He was so charming and any girl would be lucky to have him! He would have made the most amazing husband, and an even better father. I was lucky enough to of had the chance to go to school with him, work with him and be friends with him.
Everyday people still talk about him,
We may have lost a loved one but heaven just gained an angel.I love you forever lukey, R.I.P
Please don't drink and drive, you might survive it but others may not.
