: Charlotte, North Carolina - Southern Girl Blonde @ Sycamore Brewing
.
There are so many awesome breweries in and around Charlotte that it’s hard to post them all, so here’s just one I enjoyed! Good work, folks!

#52: Bryggen (Bergen), Norway - Hansa Pilsner @ Bergen Harbour . One of the most beautiful harbours I’ve seen, even on a dreary day. . Backpacking in Norway was expensive, but loads of fun. I sat in a pub in Bergen with a girl I’d met at the hostel and we passed a beer back and forth between us because they were so insanely expensive we couldn’t afford one each. . Looking up prices now tho, it doesn’t seem any more expensive than getting a pint in Melbourne, but at the time it felt ridiculous after coming from other parts of Europe. I’m sure the exchange rate has changed, too.
#51: Queens, NY - Red Stripe @ Arthur Ashe Stadium / US Open 2018 . Sloane Stephens v A. Kalinina, August 29, 2018
#53: Osaka, Japan - Asahi Super Dry @ Sumo Wrestling Tournament (honbasho) at Ōsaka Prefectural Gymnasium . One of the greatest sporting events I’ve been to. Bouts start with lower grades in the morning and build up to the champions in the early evening, with a new match up happening about every 5 minutes. That’s a lot of sumo, and it’s all exciting and intensely brutal. . If you haven’t seen sumo, think about the big dudes smacking into each other in the NFL. Sumo is that, but basically nude. All the power, with zero protection. Just think about how insane that is. . If you go, make sure you take time to explore the arena. I’ve never been to a professional sporting event that lets you wander around and see the athletes up close so easily. You can end up standing right next to these guys, and it not only gives you a sense of their giant size and height, but seeing the welts and bruises that cover their bodies shows you just how insanely brutal this sport is. Fantastic experience.
#42: Warsaw, Poland - Żywiec Oryginalny Pivo @ Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palace of Culture and Science) . I’ve always had fun visiting Poland. So much so, I think Warsaw is the only place I’ve ever missed a flight. Almost twice. Great people. Great country. Go visit.
#39: Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina - Hercegovačko Pivo @ Stari Most (the Old Bridge) . For a modest fee tourists hire wet suits and jump from the old bridge (Stari Most) into the river below, then swim as fast as they can against the current to the shore. . I had a beer and watched instead.
#36: Grindavík, Iceland - Gull Lager @ Bláa Lónið (Blue Lagoon) . While far more jammed with tourists, and therefore nowhere near as relaxing as the Myvatn baths in Iceland’s north, the Blue Lagoon is still a magnificent spot to float around in hot soup with a beer in your hand. But remember to hydrate as you cook!
#25: Höfn, Iceland - Viking Páskabjór (Easter seasonal?) @ Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon A beautiful place just outside Höfn on the south coast of Iceland. The wind whipping off the glaciers is one of the coldest things I’ve ever experienced, but the views are outstanding.
