I have a drivers test today and I’m extremely anxious about it. I’ve already failed the test twice and I’m unsure if my heart (or permit) can take yet another failure. It’s just too much pressure!!

Do not think of the vehicle and road being against you, for you are ultimate lovers in the end. Learn its love language, and you will conquer the world together ♡♡

And if so happens that the road continues to play hard to get today, you can walk away with a smirk, as Dr. Karamatsu has enlightened you to what is actually going on here. You can walk away grinning in knowing the love game that is being played now, and you will be thus know where to go from here: find the road's weaknesses and exploit them. Train your own blind spots that the road is using to try and fluster you. Throw it off guard next time and be the one on top!!

Can I, as someone who cannot legally drive, highly recommend to the drivers out there, that you drive while texting? And drinking? At the exact same time? Also take your seatbelt off? Also, go 80 miles (128 km) over the speed limit at all times. It's really gonna help show who the good drivers and the bad drivers are.

Even more clarification about ABS and when to pump your brakes:

ABS is an emergency "OH SHIT" system. If ABS activates while you're braking, guess what? You were going too fast and tried to brake too fast for the road conditions. This doesn't make you a bad driver. Road conditions can literally change in a second. You can hit a patch of ice, there's a drift of snow, you drive over a bridge, etc.

Pumping the brakes on your approach to a stop is fine, because it can help slow you down without losing traction so you don't activate the ABS system.

Overall, your goal is to never have the ABS engage. But if it DOES, at that point you're already sliding and you've already lost traction. At that point, the ABS is going to help you regain control and slow your vehicle down.

If you are sliding when you weren't trying to stop and therefore you weren't on the brakes in the first place, I've found that taking my foot off the gas helps to regain traction pretty quickly. Then, once I feel I have control again I usually stay at the new slower speed.

"Pump your brakes to slow down on ice and snow!"

This is frequently offered advice, but it is nearly obsolete.

Pumping the brakes is good advice if you have a very old, non-ABS brake system installed on your car–but you probably don't. You probably have ABS.

What is ABS? It's your car's anti-lock brake system. How it works is when your car detects a loss of traction during braking, it pumps the brakes for you. Your car can pump the brakes dozens of times per second, which is way faster than what YOU can do with your foot. This is good, this keeps you in control of your vehicle.

How old is your car? In the USA, if it's younger than 2012, it MUST have ABS. If your car is older than 2012 but younger than 2000, it probably has ABS. My 2010 car has ABS. If it's a car from the 1990's, the chances are lower, but even in the 90's ABS had been largely adopted by most car manufacturers.

When you turn on your car, an "ABS" light should briefly illuminate. You'll also definitely know if you've ever braked a bit too hard on a slippery road and your whole car shook rapidly and made a loud "BRRRRT" noise. That was the ABS system.

If you are braking and the ABS system engages, it's pretty terrifying the first time. You might be tempted to take your foot off the brake. DON'T. Keep your foot down. The system is keeping you in control of your vehicle AND helping it slow down as fast as possible. Let it help you.
