"When are you going to college"
"Do you have your driver's license"
"Are you going to get a job"
"Do you have a social life?"
HC since Steve obviously never learned now to drive (this isn’t the HC this is just truth) when he woke up he learned from watching other people drive cause obviously that guy isn’t gonna admit he can’t do this thing everyone else can do so he has everyone under the impression that he’s known how all along and has his license and everything but it’s never really come up that he /has/ to drive cause he can weasel his way out of every situation that doesn’t involve justice. He technically could drive in the same way your average joe could technically play professional ice hockey- almost adequately, but without finesse or practice
Flash forward to when Bucky is back and for one reason or another the team is driving somewhere and obvs Steve gets pushed into the drivers seat (leader of the team and all) and Bucky immediately shoves him into the back all ‘cmon idiot I know for a damn fact you don’t have a license, you’ve never driven a day in your life,’ and ‘nice try, asshole you don’t know the difference between an uncontrolled four way stop and a roundabout. Sit down’
Obvs the team poke fun at Steve for this which Bucky is 100% in support of but then Bucky gets the car on the road and they are all reminded that this is The Winter Soldier who learned to drive in Brooklyn in the forties and perfected his skills in car chases and drive-by’s for seventy years.
Peter: So about the car...
Tony: Yeah! How was driving?
Peter: It was um
Tony: Fun? Exciting?
Peter, tearing up: I got honked at
Tony: Who honked at you?
Peter: huh?
Tony: Who. Was. It.
Peter: I dunno...
Tony: NYC is going down on flames tonight
Peter: Wha-
Tony: JARVIS?
JARVIS: Suit ready, Sir.
Tony: Help yourself to some ice cream, kiddo
DAMN I gotta get better at left turns I am slow as hell
They lie to you about reverse parking and driving at night btw. They say "reverse park! you get the hard part out of the way then when you leave you can just pull out!" don't believe them. forward parking is so much easier. and it's very hard to hit the car next to you when you're pulling out. and they'll be like be careful driving at night there's so many more crashes. i mean true but also driving at night is awesome there's like no other cars it's great
My experience with the "youre taking things too literal" is when youre learning to drive they tell you to always imagine theres other drivers on the road, what they dont tell you is to also imagine that all these drivers SUCK.
Ive been driving this whole time being confused on why every teacher ive had is so concerned about how relaxed I drive to finally figure out "oh im supposed to have 0 hope in anyone else thats on the roads skills"
They should really teach that part along with "imagine theres other drivers" and "imagine ambulances are carrying your children" and "i am bring pizza today"
