Steve’s been swinging hard all day and Sam’s been setting like a dream and honestly, Steve isn’t too worried. Steve and Sam had shaken hands under the net and introduced themselves to Bucky and- Toro? Bucky and Toro. I'm sorry to see you leave Stucky (you've been one of my fav authors and Merciless Hours is my actual favorite fanfic) but I'm glad you found something new. For a rec, idk about the fandom but you'd probably love the show Stranger Things.
I’m so flattered, thank you!! I’m not entirely gone; I still have a few fics I want to finish (one of which has everything but the happy ending, much to @itstheclimb17’s amusement), and a few that will probably never be written but really should be, because I want to read them.*
I don’t know that I’ve really found a new fandom I’d want to write for - the problem with the enormous ones (Merlin, Sherlock, Supernatural … have I forgotten some?) is that there’s so much good stuff already written, so I just read voraciously and hit ‘kudos’ a lot. But of course, the problem with the rare-pair fandoms is worse, because it’s harder to feel as excited about writing when you know only five (lovely, enthusiastic) people will read it (but more importantly, rare-pair fandoms are distressing because there are not enough fics to read, damn it!).
And yay, show recommendations! I’m on the move until at least September, so there has been and will be much streaming on all my portable electronics. :)
*Irrelevant off-topic ramble: I have one of these for the HP fandom, where Remus actually aligns with Voldemort and is a double (triple?) agent, and Severus signs up because Remus does, but has a lot of reservations and is sharing information with the Order - but not all he knows, because his major goal is to watch out for Remus while trying to keep himself alive and a mad man from taking over the country, and the whole thing delves into the politics of society and discrimination, what separates love from obsession and a monster from a wizard from a man. Not that you cared about that, but there are still days I want to read this unwritten fic.
I found a song that perfectly describes All the Angels and the Saints!Bucky and it's completely without angst! I didn't know that was possible! It's called You Told the Drunks I knew Karate and it's basically the romcom version of your fic.
You know, at first I was like--no way, this is for the Angels & Saints Brooklyn Comedy Hipster AU which--I mean, there really should be an Angels & Saints Brooklyn Comedy Hipster AU, right? But the song sold me by the end; it’s really poignant actually! It’s actually made me a bit weepy even as I was laughing, so thank you for this.
