This post will be about the event cleaners
While standard works were just fine at cleaning in groups and small areas, larger spaces required larger cleaners. These drones were first designed to meet that demand. They were designed and built around the same time the standard workers were still being distributed. Some cleaners could come to be 40 years or older. Watching a whole generation of humans grow and start families of their own. These large and gentle giants were designed with no mouths due to how primitive their use was in terms of types.
They were a staple in event halls, parks and other large gathering spaces. Because of this, they became center pieces in many communities. Many humans citing them as a comforting sight in an ever changing world. While these drones cannot speak, they are very friendly and playful. Especially with young children. In some cases they could even become protectors. Once notable case was that of a 30 year old event cleaner who created a safe passageway out of a burning event hall. Despite the damage to him, the locals pooled money to have him repaired and returned to service elsewhere. This drone woupd later be placed in a museum once he could no longer function even with repairs.
The docile drones and the methods used to designed them, as well as the event hall incident, would later inspire designs for firefighter drones. These drones are as proud as they are kind. Taking much pride in their care for the humans during their days of fun. Often being old enough to have known them their whole lives. The younger more modern event cleaners did not carry this same amount of pride, but did come to understand it and took their jobs seriously.
Over time these drones became popular even within homes, usually on the larger side. On planets like Bismuth-12 in particular, they were loved by the elderly retirees for their compassionate natures and diligent work. Their many arms aiding greatly in many household tasks. Although having one in a home was much more expensive than standard workers. It was well worth the investment for many.
During the fall, these drones did not run, hide, or fight. They remained in their place, many of them too old, worn, and attatched to their way of life for escape attempts. Even if they did fight back, they weren't as strong as more defensive or combative types. The younger stood beside them in solidarity, standing like totems when the mutated drones attacked. Even as fear took their code.
