1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

Not sure which area of this to address, since that’s a pretty broad question with regards to a 100k+ fic, but I’ll try to tackle it sort of? Red Streak has multiple POVS, which was inspired somewhat by big operatic serialized fiction like GOT or The Expanse, but more so by television, which tends to shift episodically, more united by theme and plot than singular characters or experiences. Seemed like a good plan for a long-ass serialized version of the ME1 story. Also… Garrus Vakarian is fun to write POVs for.

As for the interwoven past-present plots, that just… seemed like the best way to keep people invested in Shanxi, where I was essentially making up a whole bunch of original characters and scenarios and praying that readers wouldn’t just skim over every scene that didn’t involve Garrus and Shepard staring at each other from a respectable professional distance.

I’m using Chrome, as I don’t have another browser, but maybe I’ll download another couple and see if it works better. Good point!
