I first learned of Dr Squat from George Zangas when the discussing the practice of compensatory acceleration. Probably no other practice was as fundamental to my athletic success on the football field as CAT. --- Compensatory Acceleration is a training method where the athlete deliberately accelerates through the concentric phase of the lift as fast as possible. As the athlete gains mechanical advantage, the athlete continues acceleration until the lift is complete. The deliberate acceleration through the concentric phase of the lift activates more motor units.
