I feel like drugs could go two ways for Legend and two ways only:
He uses them
2. He is super against them and despite being, yknow, his prickly self, he will not hesitate to lecture someone about the dangers of addiction and will gladly find someone resources to help them quit and if someone is a “lost cause” or denies their problems he will instead tease them mercilessly about their addiction in hopes it will inspire them to quit if only to shut him up
I have an unrelated question to anything:
Do you plan out what you want to read before hand or how do you approach it?
I ask because I assume you're super busy with life and everything and I always wonder how people structure their reading to include reading for pleasure, for educational purposes and for any other purposes.
I have adhd and I'm always looking for ways to balance my reading cause my brain is a non-cooperative pos even on my best days😭 and I miss reading so much. The only thing I can handle is re-reading the same old books cause they're familiar to my brain and easy to fall into.
Thank you for being you and for the existence of this blog. I didn't know a space like this was something I needed and would enjoy so much❤
Tbh what I read usually directly corresponds to what I’m writing. Like recently I started thinking about writing an essay about my experiences with and philosophy on suicidal ideation, so I started searching for books written about the loss of a loved one to suicide. I read a lot of stuff for research for my fic and will continue to do so. If I’m writing something academic or working on some presentation, project or even just a standard lesson for work, I read whatever I need to be educated on the topic.
However there are exceptions. For example when it was announced Hudson was gonna be in Yaga I immediately started reading Yaga. While trading Yaga I had to take several breaks to read other shit. Obviously HR inspired me to look into the GC books. So it’s not unusual for me to decide to read something because it’s the source material for something else I already know I enjoy. This is honestly very helpful. It’s often easier to read something if I already have some reason to be invested in it beyond potential enjoyment.
Sometimes I’ll read something because a friend recommended it or because it’s the latest and hottest literature going around the office on such and such pedagogy whatever.
But tbh I think for me as someone with adhd what made it easier to read more wasn’t finding like the perfect selection process so much as giving myself permission to be a bad reader. Giving myself permission to read books that are “beneath” me, giving myself permission to only read short books or even short stories or even individual poems, permission to only read a couple pages at a time, permission to read whatever I’m currently obsessed with, permission to read slowly, intermittently or while reading multiple other things. Permission to read at the “wrong” times or when I “should be doing something else.”
And really the best thing to do honestly for adhd is just find something you are fucking obsessed with lmao like something you can’t stop reading about but I know it’s not easy to just find that.
Also amphetamines of course.
