This is an absolutely delightful book, and the perfect inspiration during a short winter getaway to celebrate finishing writing the first Wilde Grove novel. Back home in a couple days to get the website together (sorry all of you who have visited my profile link - it's coming) and ready for a (northern hemisphere) Samhain book release.
There's a reason this book has become a classic. Beautiful writing, so much truth.

So many of you are welcoming fall, with it's hot chocolate, gorgeous colours, and quiet times with a warm rug and a good book.
But here in my part of the world it is suddenly spring, and within the last week, almost everything on my daily walk has burst into flower.
I love it all. Autumn, spring. All of it.
A different sort of book today - this gorgeous journal (chosen for me by one of my kids) contains every detail of character, setting, and timeline - as well as a bunch of juicy quotes - I need to keep track of for the Wilde Grove series.

Usually, I keep track of this sort of thing on the computer, but I went old-school and tactile for this one.

It's always been a little difficult living in the Southern hemisphere where the year is the complete opposite. Last year, I got married while visiting the US (my wife is American) and we married on the Summer Solstice. Now, back home in New Zealand, our anniversary is at Yule.

Sewing ritual clothes. I started making these this year, based on Viking, and iron age Celtic designs. I began by doing just the finishing by hand, but didn't feel like getting up and using the machine one day, so now they're something I completely hand stitch. And my stitching is improving hugely! I find this work soothing, calming, and meditative. We all need that sort of thing. What do you do that brings you a sense of peace and calmness?
