This is great for all levels of drummers so you can start playing along to the song no matter what level you are. If you are a beginner and you mostly know only 8th notes, you can start with step one. If you are a little more experienced, try step two. This is week Eight of the drum play along (Drum Set Jam 6). This is part of an eight week series to learn a play along song with three different levels. Each week I will post a new video teaching the new section of the song with a new beat and fill for that section. The first level is for beginners using only eighth notes. The second level is for beginner students that are in between beginner and intermediate level. The third level is for intermediate to more advanced students. The idea is to give students of a lot of different levels, new beat and fill ideas in a musical context. In this video I teach you how to create and write out your own beats that will fit the play along. It has been a few weeks since the last posting of a new fill because I have been working on the Ghostbusters cover for my students. Be sure to check that out on our YouTube channel. The students did a great job with the song. The fill this week is at the end of the last section of Drum Set Jam 6. Oliver plays the Outro section and transitions into the Tag. The fill is a linear pattern with three 16th with the hands followed by one 16th with the kick. You can play RLRK or LRLK. Oliver does a great job with the beat and the fill. Awesome job Oliver!!!
