This is a fun beginner 8th note drum fill that incorporates a little independence by adding the bass drum. The fill is one measure of 8th notes playing a single stroke roll on the snare drum with the bass drum on beats 1 and 3. This is my student Nathen demonstrating the Drum Fill this week. This is a fun fill when you want to set up beat 4 of the measure. The fill is very spacious at first with just a quarter note and a flam, but then builds a little by adding 16th notes leading up to the accent with the crash on beat 4. The second tempo is 110 bpm. The fill starts to get pretty challenging above 110 bpm. Try the fill faster and let me know how it goes. This is my student Roshan playing the fill this week. This is a good beginner 8th note drum fill adding some bass drum hits. Once you feel comfortable playing 8th note drum fills around the snare and the toms you will be ready to try incorporating the bass drum. This is my student Eli playing the Drum Fill this week. He is playing the fill around 114bpm. Have fun and trying playing the fill over 120 or 130bpm.
