Holy shit, could things get any worse?

Alarms had just started blaring all throughout the laboratory and, the moment Shauna turns around, it is Jackie who stands there. She blinks hard twice to try and erase the mirage of her away but she stands there, anyway. And even when she asks for her to leave, Jackie refuses.

Fuck.

"Jackie, you know you can't be here." Especially not now, not today. She scurries over to her, placing hands on her shoulders to try and turn her around to leave. "You have to go. I'm sure you're aware that alarms are never a good sign, we're dealing with an emergency here. Please, be a bit considerate for once in your life and leave!"

The prodigal sister returns, and it didn't even take that long.

Between the things that should be done and the things she wants to do, Ianthe chooses the latter, and, cheek resting on her palm, waits for the other to speak first, whether to explain herself or apologize, or pretend nothing has happened at all. Whatever Coronabeth chooses this time, Ianthe knows her twin is going to break the silence first. When the moment comes, she picks a tone that verges on concern, the very same she has designed for her sister’s return, and stands to meet the other halfway.

"Oh, Corona." She reaches out to hold Coronabeth's hands; a soft, cool touch that becomes a prison with her smile and her next words. "I know you weren't. You could never hurt me if you tried."

it's late, getting used to not being only awake during the night was fun, in it's own right. he no longer only belonged to the dark. a small taste of what felt like freedom, it's been so long. and to think he would be awake, spending time alone with gale. playing some sort of game with what eventually could be food, an advantage. well, that's new. bright blood eyes stare at gale, with what astarion wants to think is disdain, disinterest, or annoyance even (he can't entirely give himself away, can he?). he's concentrating on looking the part that it caughts him off guard when gale, gale and his very warm hand cups his face, rubs his thumb and cleans the corner of his mouth. he can feel it wiping what astarion assumes is the blood leftover from his early dinner. "-bothering to clean me up now? how long have you left me wondering around with that on my face?" he asks, because he can't let things just be. at the center of it the need to push people, push gale around is ever so present.
