Can u please do solangelo at a party
Sure thing. Everyone is aged up and in college.
Nico was not a social butterfly. This wasfairly common knowledge. Large groups of people packed into a small area madehim extremely uncomfortable and anxious. He would always feel the start of apanic attack coming on before a pair of warm, tanned hands held his and he waspulled away from the crowd. Will always knew when Nico was at his limit andneeded to be taken out of a situation. Will was always there to sweep him awayand hold him until his breathing returned to normal and his panic subsided. Will was good like that. Parties made him nervous, yes, but with Will by hisside, he could manage. And a party was exactly where Nico found himself on alate Friday night in March.
The loud music bore into Nico’s skull to the point where hecouldn’t think, but he didn’t care too much. Seeing Will so happy andcomfortable around other people made Nico smile and bare what he had to to letWill have a good time and enjoy himself.
“Psst, hey, Nico?” Will half-whispered, poking Nico in theside.
“Yeah?” Nico replied, looking over at him.
“Are you okay?” Will asked. “I mean, your anxiety. Doyou need to get away?”
The deep concern in Will’s sky blue eyes melted Nico’sheart. “No. I’m okay. Really.” Nico added a soft smile at the end to tryand help convince Will. Really, he was feeling okay. Maybe a little tired, butNico wasn’t panicking or upset. Will grinned at him.
“You’ve been here so long and you’re still okay. I’m reallyproud of you.” Will said happily and Nico couldn’t help but smileshyly. “But, really, come tell me when you need to leave, okay?” He addedseriously. Nico nodded and watched Will merge into a crowd. Will nevercompletely moved out of Nico’s sight, always leaving him with an easy escaperoute if he needed it.
A few hours passed and Nico’s water was soon replaced withalcohol as the night went on. He’s not really sure how or when it happened, buthis cup turned from water to wine (no pun intended), to some cocktail, back towine. Since it was a Friday night and he knew Will would never touch alcohol,he drank freely, always keeping a mental tally of how many drinks he consumed. Aroundhis fourth or fifth (mental tallies were hard), Nico began to seek out Will. Hewas drunk, he knew that for certain, but it was getting hard to breath in theclaustrophobic space.
“Will?” He asked a blond who looked like Will from far away.
“Nico?” The blond turned and it was… Jason? Nico wasconfused. This blond was not his boyfriend. But he looked likehis boyfriend. Too drunk and confused to realize, Nico was staring at Jason andhadn’t responded to the older boy’s question. Nico didn’t even realize he asked aquestion.
“What?” He said, so very intelligently.
“You’re drunk.” Jason repeated with a smug smile. Nico shookhis head but stopped quickly, the action making him extremely nauseous. Nicowas too focused on trying not to throw up to notice Jason hadslipped away and left Nico alone.
Nico bit back the tears at his realization of being aloneand started to curl in on himself when Jason returned with… with anotherblond behind him! Jason quickly became Nico’s knight in plain clothes when hesaw the second blond was, indeed, his ever-loving boyfriend, Will.
“Nico?” Will asked gently. “Are you okay?” He steppedforward, closer to Nico.
“I can’t breathe in here,” he said, desperate to convinceWill to get him out, “and I’ve had too many of these.” He held the plasticcup out to Will, who looked at the contents of the cup before frowning andthrowing it away.
“Okay,” he said gently, careful not to upset Nico anyfurther, “let’s go outside for some air, okay? Will that be okay?”
Nico nodded, grateful to have such an understandingboyfriend. Will gently took Nico’s hand, maneuvering them through the crowd andoutside the house to the front yard. Nico gulped down huge, greedy breaths.
“Hey, hey,” Will said, grabbing his shoulders and turning Nico to face him. “That’s going to make you throw up. Slow, easy breaths.” Will took Nico’s hand and placed it over his heart. “In. Out. Like we practiced, remember? In. Out.” Will eventually got Nico breathing in time with his heartbeats. “There you go.” Will smiled. “Isn’t that better?” Nico nodded and leaned against his chest.
“Thank you.” He mumbled quietly.
“You’re welcome.” Will replied, gently pulling away from Nico but lacing their fingers together. “How about we head back to your dorm? It’s getting pretty late.”
Nico nodded again, infinitely grateful for having such a perfect boyfriend.
