Don’t be passive to the way other people treat you. You may be labeled dramatic or manipulative for standing your ground and being honest and loud, but it’s those who take advantage of you until you reach your limit that are the ones with tainted motives. It’s easier to try to tear down someone who stands tall than someone who lies in the dirt like a snake.

Sometimes you’re having a pretty okay day

But then someone puts a margarita in your hand and the night goes from good to great!

You have to excavate your mind bit by bit and carve out each piece that might contradict another. It’s a painful journey of destroying your ego, only to rebuild and break it over and over again. To sit in the discomfort of sifting through the ashes of who you were, who you are, and fathoming how to build who you want to be- only to acknowledge a future where you must break this impossible to construct person down again. This is growth, a painful and omnipresent process that mimics life and nature itself. More potent than even love, it drives the meaning in all that we do, feel, and hope to be.

I’d be a poet but the words don’t fit quite as well as bubbles in my mouth

I’d write a book but my thoughts won’t fill the pages in ink like they do my mind when I think

I’d run a marathon but my breath can’t flow as free as it does when filling lungs with smoke

I’d paint a mural but the colors don’t blend like they do on the inverted side of my eyes

I’d play the piano but the notes on the keys stretch further in my ears than my fingers can

And I’d be somebody out there but it’s so much easier to just be me in here

Killing feelings kills a certain attachment to the world and all you might find in it.

The earth is intertwined deeply into our being; to love is to feel her roots hold your soul, and to hate is to rot in your heart like weathered bark.

The sadness we we inherit is the flow of time in her rivers, and happiness, the flow of life in oceans.

Contentment we find in the lightest of clouds, and fear through the looming thunder.

Power of mountains

Gentle breeze

Anxious lightning

Safe trees

We are all someone’s world too, and what we grant are these complex feelings to stumble through.

What a terrifying existence; to love and be loved.

It is like a steady churning, or snowy mountain march. It’s deafening.

Slowly my heart settles into the rhythm and I lie awake as midnight passes.

I wasted my time and now it aches. Everything is a dull ache and I struggle to catch my breath.

And do I feel better yet? I’m out of time. And I am so very tired.

Maybe it’s time to sleep forever if I can’t finally feel better.

Sometimes.... I just cant. I cant ignore the fact that my mother says I didnt learn the same way,and that I needed special treatment. I just cant handle where I'm at in life. I cant handle the fact that I have a degree that I'm not using. I can't handle the fact that I feel like a waste of space. I cant handle that I dont have a person in my life. I cant handle that nothing make sense. I just cant...

And then I go to sleep and I wake up the next day and push forward....

I need a therapist...
