I really wish there were an easier way to deal with these situations, but really- the best we have is time and sometimes people to talk to. I’m so sorry for your loss. :c
Thanks guys. Today's been a long day (not sleeping much didn't help), the wake was from 1pm-3pm and then we went to a family friend's house for Thanksgiving since we weren't hosting this year. (Thought we were, but people bailed a week or two ago)
I felt like I had to vent last night because yesterday was.. also busy. I woke up, did my daily routine, got pulled aside to be told the news and 20 mins later we (mom and sister) had left the house to go shopping for clothes. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but the dress clothes I could've worn were for the wedding for this saturday. And we were out most of the night, and I never really had time to sit by myself and process. And as most people know, negative thoughts just multiply and multiply at night.
Tomorrow's more wake services, one in the afternoon and one at night, so we'll be out all day again. Then.. on Saturday is the burial, in the morning. After that we head off to my cousin's wedding. It's almost weird how a lot of our funerals intersect with holidays, birthdays, weddings, graduations and the like. I even had a burial for my uncle back some years on my birthday. And honestly at this point in my life, it's neither funny nor sad, just.. is. It is what it is.
But seriously, thank you. Talking just makes things so much easier.
