Committee of the Fuck Prometheus support group, attended by Heracles, Moros, Dionysus, and Athena. Melinoe is very confused.
Heracles: Greetings, all. Welcome to the Fuck Prometheus support group meeting, where we discuss how much we want to fuck Prometheus. We have a new member today.
Melinoe: Hail. I was under the impression that this club would be where we discuss how much we want Prometheus to go fuck himself.
Heracles: Out. This support group is not for you-
Melinoe: no no
Melinoe:
Melinoe: Iâm switching sides
wip wednesday
some dionysus/prometheus from hades ii that I am writing because Why Not.
Prometheus looks at him cautiously while Dionysus moves around him, without touching him, knowing he wants it, he wants him. He doesnât remember when it started; time runs really weirdly here in his little bubble. Prometheus was hurt, and Dionysus found him by chance (if chance is something that exists, which Dionysus doesnât think at all), and helped him only because he was not supposed to. His father hates him, his family pities him, at best, but Dionysus canât stop admiring something so beautiful, so full of spite.
âIt could happen.â
âYou worry too much.â
âAnd you donât worry enough.â
âI have nothing to worry about,â Dionysus says, tone light, and he sits down on the bed. Itâs colorful, soft, bouncy. Prometheus sticks out in the fluffiness of this room like a sore thumb. Dionysus notices his own briefs getting a little bit fuller, just looking at this manâno, Titan. Who cares, when Prometheus looks at it and the anger dissolves almost entirely into hunger, the muscles under his chest moving with the breathing that is not really needed.
"Well, if [Mount Olympus] is burning, baby, let it burn, I say!" !!!! WHAT!!! WHAT! HOLY FUCK! Is my crack theory that Dionysus invited Prometheus to his party because Dionysus admired him TRUE?! Does this mean that Dionysus resents his family??? That Dionysus avoids his problems??? That Dionysus is glad that Prometheus is fucking shit up??? Does this mean that Dionysus admires Prometheus for going apeshit and being an unstoppable force that is confronting the family Dionysus never dared to???
(https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uINdmAojlPI and yes, I got this screenshot from a YouTube short. You know, like a heathen.)
Headcanon that Dionysus has a frightening madness aspect that he hides to be the peaceloving party guy that everyone can love, but Prometheus finds that aspect as beautiful as a flame. Maybe Prom tries to be a bad influence and encourages Dio to go apeshit with it UwU
Iâm biased cause I think Prometheus has the best ship names. Doomflame? Intriguing! Lionflame? Absolutely! Witchflame? Yeah! Drunkflame? Molotov cocktails bby!
Dionysus may have more connections to Prometheus than at first glance
One of Dionysusâ lines, âwhatâs [Prometheus] gonna do, cook our meat?â, is likely a direct reference to a line from the play, The Birds, by the comic poet Aristophanes. Prometheus is featured in the play, and the main character tells Prometheus âI know weâre not supposed to like you, but thank you for giving us fire for cooking meatâ, to which Prometheus says âI hate Godsâ
Oh cool. A possible reference to a real play, nice.
But get this-! Remember how Dionysus saw Frinos and goes âI hope that frog doesnât singâ as a reference to Aristophanesâ The Frogs? The time Dionysus went to the Underworld to resurrect a poet?
Well that poet was Aeschylus. Writer of Prometheus Bound.
And get this. It was said Aeschylus became a tragic poet because Dionysus showed up to him in his dreams and told him to write tragedies.
Meaning itâs very likely that it was Dionysus himself made sure Prometheus Bound got written. THE play that is the reason Prometheus is remembered fondly as a hero rather than a traitor.
Then thereâs the Aesop legend where Dionysus got Prometheus drunk on nectar before work and thatâs how Prometheus accidentally made queer people, but I choose not to regard it since itâs clearly for gigglesâ how is Dionysus there if there are no mortals yet and heâs half mortal? Anyway.
Of course Dionysus wants to invite Prometheus to his feast. Dionysus is probably Prometheusâ biggest fan đ
I miss DrunkFlame⊠I find myself drawn to it time to time. Out of most characters in âHades 2â, Dionysus is one of the few who genuinely wants Prometheus to have a good time and doesnât blame him for anything.
Iâm also thinking about a new line in the update. In the game, Prometheus states how he admires mortals for striving for perfection despite their short, painful lives. In turn, in the update, Heracles talked about how Dionysus doesnât care for perfection as he understands that it can never be achieved, which is why he parties all the time.
I really do think Prometheus and Dionysus would have interesting things to talk about.
