My two precious babies, a fetal bird chick that fell from its nest before it was even fully grown within its own egg, shattered on the ground and found by me, I picked them up so tenderly and brushed all the dirt away, nestled with its metaphorical brother, an Itsy bitsy mouse, naturally dried in the same spot he passed, placed in a bottle and gifted gently in my hands on one of my most delicate days,

they curl into eachother for eternity

found a female b.lackb.ird today! I took her legs, wings, head, and tail feathers - I'm currently preserving the wings + legs and macerating the head (it was a bit tricky to skin the head as I only had my penknife, my scalpels are all in my uni flat atm)

Need of urgent help

What do you do if your dry preserved animal parts gets infested with moths? I have some wings and rabbit paws that are literally falling apart bit by bit and it's so sad and frustrating. I've had them outside during the winter in a box and the larvae and moths seems to be dead but there's still a lot of eggs hidden beneath feathers and fur that I'm afraid are going to hatch if I put them inside in the warmth. Is there anything I can do or are these parts lost to the moths forever?
