Anything Edwin might have said is drowned when the train comes roaring out of the tunnel, already slowing down. She takes a step towards him, her heels clicking on the tiles. After a moment’s hesitation, she reaches out and smooths a stray curl of hair off his forehead. Behind her, the train stops and the doors slide open. Edwin wonders whether she’s going to say anything else, but she only turns and marches over to the nearest open door. He watches as she steps up and onto the train, and then pauses, glancing back over her shoulder. “Oh, and—Edwin?” “Yes?” he says. It is, he realises, the first time she’s ever called him Edwin. “Take the bloody acting off your job title. Consider it a personal favour to me.”

FINAL CHAPTERRRRR 😭 so sad to say goodbye but what a blinder of an ending! Everyone clap for L&H and all their hard work and incredible writing!

Finally got my @shadyufo TEETH plaque up. It's one of the first things anyone sees when they come into my home, which I think is very important, because it tells you exactly what you're getting into.

I do not like reading fan fiction. I know! And I am properly ashamed! But I have tried dozens, if not hundreds, of times. For every fandom I have ever been in since I was a teen in the aughts. I try going on ao3 and reading some myself, any time I see someone highly recommend a fic I will check it out, because I like the idea of fanfiction. I LOVE the idea of fanfiction. But any time a character does anything that feels out of character I immediately lose all interest.. Maybe I'm too overly attached to the characters, maybe I'm a snob, man I don't know, but I just can't do it. UNTIL NOW. So I see a post from @the-wine-dark-sea about AU fics and in the tags they tag a fic called Wunderkammer. I admit I have only tried to read less then a handful of Dead Boy Detective fics, for I fear I am even more attached to the integrity of these characters then any others in past fandoms and the initial fics I read in this fandom had scared me off from trying anymore. But for whatever reason this time I thought why not give it a try. Wunderkammer (by @tw0-ravens and @dear-monday), is incredible beyond words. Were there character inconsistencies? I literally could not tell you, because I was so completely entranced the entire time I was reading. I am being so serious when I say that the setting of this fic rivals canon for me. The setting for this fic tickled my imagination in a way that I haven't experienced in years. I wanted to go into their world, I wanted to be part of the story. I don't know if I've even felt that way about a piece of media since I was a child. There was something so magical and mysterious about it and I want to read a hundred more stories in this world. @tw0-ravens and @dear-monday if this story was inspired by any other media (besides Dead Boy Detectives) then please send me your recommendations! But if this story came straight out of your heads then I am practically begging you to change the character's names and get a publisher, because this story is truly incredible. The way you write and the world you created should be outside of just this fandom for everyone to see. Thank you so much for writing this story! I had such a blast reading it!
