Dryad Tea: Black Cats and Pointy Hats

This tea is amazing. It's mulled spice flavors remind you of fall. It tastes like a warm spiced cider! I tested brewing it in cider and found that to be just as delicious of an experience!

I highly recommend this blend during a rainy cold day.

A Cup Of Fantasy: Dryad Tea Pairs Perfectly With The Tabletop

It's officially September, and it will soon be fall. The air grows cold, the skies turn slate grey, and the mind wanders in search of the comfort it can only find inside a mug of fresh brewed tea. Now, of course, you can go to Starbucks for whatever they're passing off as tea right now, and you could also get some Tetley or Celestial Seasonings down at the supermarket. But what if you want to move beyond the mundane, to try something new and different? Maybe you want a tea that doesn't just taste good, but pairs with your favorite book? Maybe you want a mug of something named "Raspberry Imp," "Loki's Kiss, or even "Wibblycog?"

Dryad Tea: Merry Unbirthday

Today, after a few months, my Dryad Tea shipment finally arrived! While I was very excited for my new heaping bag of imblueberry (my go to night time tea), I was even more excited to try Merry Unbirthday.

My first impression when opening Merry Unbirthday was excitement! It smelled like sweet strawberry wine. When I brewed it, I got a little antsy as it didn't change the color of the water much. Once I tried it though, I was in heaven.

I usually use a lot of sugar in my tea, it's just how I was raised. This required no more than a spoonful, however. It's sweet and delicious. Even without the sugar, I could tell it was going to be a new favorite.

This fruit tea (no caffeine!) brews in 5-8 minutes. On the label it also includes directions as to temperature. I highly recommend buying at least a sample of this and trying it yourself! It's amazing!

Dryad Tea: Dragonside Tavern

Tonight I tried Dragonside Tavern, an oolong tea blend made by Dryad Tea. I got a sample of it from my first purchase of teas from Dryad, but I haven't tried it until now.

The tea is advertised to have a 'cinnamon rice pudding' flavor, and it delivers. I like my drinks on the sweeter side, so I added two tablespoons of sugar as well as a splash of milk. It was delicious! The flavor is unique but comforting also. The milk definitely adds to it as well. In the future I want to try pairing it with horchata in place of milk, just to see how that would elevate the flavors!

Dryad Tea: Oracle's Oath

Description:

Enjoy this sweet and fruity blend of watermelon oolong and lime green tea, spiced with ginger for a hint of the danger that one must face for the oath.  The Oath of the Oracle, said to be a test of self, if one is lucky enough to take it.

Ingredients:

Oolong, green tea, papaya pieces, plum + safflower petals, ginger, lemon pieces, sweetlime pieces*, natural flavors (organic compliant).(*Sweetlime pieces: Glucose syrup, concentrated lemon juice, sugared apricot halves, modified starch, thickening agent E401, flavor.)

This is the first miss, sadly. This tea isn't bad- just not to my tastes. It has a very strong watermelon flavor to it which is great if you're a fan of watermelon. Myself personally? No.

This tea reads like fruit punch. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys very fruity teas and loves watermelon.

Dryad Tea: Lick Me

Lick Me is an online exclusive to Dryad Tea. The description is as follows:

This tea smells and tastes just like the chocolate oranges that you smack into tables during the holidays. Orange and chocolate swirl together in a tea that is delightful to the senses. Perfect with a touch of milk and sweetener of your choice.

The ingredients:

Black Tea, orange peel, safflower petals, calendula petals, blackberry leaves, natural blood orange flavoring, natural flavors.

How does it hold up? I feel this tea does very much taste as described, just with the flavor of black tea added. The black tea doesn't take away from anything though!

I prefer to have this tea cooled down some but still warm. The orange and cocoa notes shine through more the cooler it is.

This definitely will have a permanent place on my shelf!
