Buchanan Castle, Drymen, Loch Lomond
Despite the name, the castle is actually the seat of the Clan Graham after ownership passed to the 3rd Marquess of Montrose. During World War II it served as a hospital, and was one of the locations Rudolf Hess was detained in. In `1954 the castle's owner removed the roof to avoid paying tax on the building and ever since then the castle has fallen ever further into disrepair. The castle grounds however are now the site of a golf course and numerous homes.
