Well thanks for the tag, @mimii-drawz ! (I didn't reblog directly to keep this post relatively short 🥲) Loved Mila's bluntness.
Tagging @sarnai4 and @ruchi-writes (sorry if there are doubles ;-;), feel free to answer the questions from a character's perspective!
I'll go from Asher's POV (mc of Gespenst):
What's your favorite thing to do to avoid responsibility?
"Hide in a bush. That works surprisingly well."
If you could chose anyone in the world to be your sibling, who would it be?
"I don't think anyone deserves to have the same parents as me."
What is the most sublime thing you have ever eaten and why?
"Uhm, surprisingly, ketchup on a slice of goat cheese. I've tried many different food combinations, and this one really hits the spot when you're back from work. Cheap and replenishes all your nutrients."
What was the worst day of your life and why?
"I don't know. Either the day my mother crashed into a tree sending me into a coma and disabling me for life, or the day she came back as a ghost to insult and harass me every waking instant."
What's your worst nightmare?
"I already live in it."
If a monster asked you your worst nightmare what would you tell them and why?
"I'd tell it I'm afraid of rejection or some shit. I don't know. Something abstract enough to be hard to conjure. But honestly, if that monster were benevolent... Maybe I'd be honest and say I don't want to be haunted by my mother and this fucking demon forever. Maybe they could square up. I sure as hell can't punch ghosts myself."
Would you give secret information if tortured? Be honest.
"Man, I'm barely holding on as it is. And I'm a shit liar. It's the secret-giver's fault for putting it on me."
Who could you trust most with a secret?
"If I encountered them more these days, Mike and Betty, my old neighbors. They practically raised me. And I think they're the only people I can really trust. They have nothing to gain from betraying me."
You have been caught somewhere you shouldn't be! Quick, what is your excuse?
"Oh, don't worry, I'm the janitor. That I can pull off. I was one for some time, you know?"
How good is your sleep schedule?
"I fall asleep when I am tired." *Spends two days awake then lies dead for one more*
Do you have any siblings? If so, is your relationship good?
"Oh no. No no no. None that I know of, at least. My parents' marriage was already on the verge of implosion with just me. I don't think any of them would want more children. At the very least, my mother keeps reminding me how much I ruined her life. And my father wouldn't care for a child. He sure as hell didn't... I'm getting sidetracked, sorry. Next question?"
What's the toughest time you had to endure growing up?
"Oh, man, you really want me to trauma dump, uh? Well, let's go. The few years after the crash, when I was eleven or something. On top of my recovery, I had to handle all the household, since my father was never bothered to care for it. It got worse when she started talking to me, obviously. Juggling between school, being a live-in maid and handling a ghost's taunting made me crack, and I just left that town before finishing high school. Then the demon arrived. I'm pretty sure it's after my mother's soul or something like that. But I'm in its way."
What's your relationship with your family like?
"I think my previous answers were explicit enough."
Do you have any hobbies? If so, which ones?
"... Staring at walls and driving around? I'm usually too washed-out to have a hobby."
Do you dream often? What do you dream about?
"Luckily, I don't dream at all."
Have you ever been in love?
"I mean, I must have. Everyone has, I think. But it's pretty hard to think of that when your mother is constantly talking to you."
What is your least favorite thing in the world?
"Well..."
What is your pet peeve?
"The inability to clean up after oneself."
Would you consider yourself different?
"Structurally speaking, I'm normal, the normalest of men. It's my circumstances that are weird. Even with stories of ghosts hunting people, they rarely are so... Grounded, you see? Just here to insult you, get on your nerves, without any other supernatural stuff happening."
How far would you go to save a loved one?
"I honestly don't know. I've never been in such dire situations."
Would you team up with your worst enemy if it were your only option?
"If you mean the demon, that thing is literally trying to kill me. I'm not risking that. Otherwise, I'm a pretty laid-back dude, I don't think I have enemies." (Clueless)
What is the worst insult you can give?
"Depends on whether I'm uninhibited." *Stares*
What is the nicest thing someone could say to you?
"Uh, you're cool and smart and awesome? Also gorgeous?"
Are you a jealous person?
"I think I would be. I mean, I'm at least half my father. Probably."
Have you ever committed a crime?
"..."
Are you neat or messy?
"Housekeeping-wise? I'm a very clean and tidy person. As for me as a person... I might be a tad negligent."
How do you feel about crying? Let it out or hold it in?
"Listen, I've had so many public panic attacks at this point, I'm over caring what people think."
Who do you live for? Why?
"Uh, myself? Otherwise, I'd pretty much... Die."
Who has betrayed you the most?
"Would it be surprising to say my mother?"
What style of accessories do you wear? Is it willingly?
"Aside from my clothes... Nothing. I have a pretty old jacket that I can't go out without, but that's all."
The e-book version is still being worked on, but you can already buy the paperback online! I'll give a few links, but there are plenty of places you can order it.
I'll make a proper post when the e-book appears on stores
If you're in Europe, it's probably easier and cheaper to use local websites. Please keep the shipping costs in mind, some websites are far more expensive than others.
