After almost a year, it dawned on me that I've never done a presentation post. As I'm a greedy bastard here it is (since you know the process: "wow this guy sure exists" ➡️ "hey he does have things to share" ➡️ $$$📈📈📈)
👇
My name is Derek. I'm a STEM student; I literally can't say more because idek how long I'll stay in my field, I've already switched and I don't want to update this post in a few months. I'm on Central European Time, so I try to be reactive but sometimes I just miss posts.
I'm here to talk about a few things, including my books—one is available, more on that below. I have been writing for years at this point (yada yada), but I've only recently started actually putting my projects together, so it will be at least a good decade before I run out.
There may be fandom content as well when I feel like it. No, I can't predict which or when. I'm a dabbler. But you're on Tumblr, after all.
Outside of that, I read an awful lot. Don't hesitate to hit me up to talk about books, especially French literature. This may not be surprising, but I speak English (🫣) and French (😩); hence the occasional non-English post. I can do translation works from and to each language with no issue if you want to hit me up. My German is a bit rustier, but I'm working on it: I could hold a conversation if needed.
So, what to expect? Random thoughts, the occasional drawing, some promotional content here and there—but I'm marketing-averse so it shouldn't flood any feed. I'm mostly rambling to myself.
If you want to message me, don't be shy: as long as you don't seem like a bot and you have something to ask or tell, I'm happy to answer.
Currently published works (ebook and paperback):
Gespenst (psychological thriller)
Coming back to his hometown after years of absence, Asher is trying to find a way to get rid of his mother's ghost and the demon chasing her; however, it is getting closer every day, and he must deal with it while keeping face around former acquaintances who do not seem to trust him in the slightest. Maybe it does not help that a string of murders started the moment he arrived in town.
(first-person, available in English and French)
In progress:
Still untitled (and hard to classify)
Being a young doctor is hard, especially when you decide to start your career in the middle of nowhere. Let's not even talk about all the bizarre things that can happen; how to survive the creatures' hunger or your senior practitioner's know-it-all attitude? How do you even escape this horrible place? Anyways, there is no time for that. The Elder witch needs some cortisone shots.
(first-person, will be published in French before the English translation)
