"it's fine, detective really." He wanted her to believe that but if she would was totally up to her. There was a small sigh that escaped Lucifer's lips. He didn't like the idea of either of them having to get separate rooms. Sitting up a little bit, that was when he glanced over at the blonde. "No, I do not wish to have separate rooms. I want to stay in this one with you." He knew that he probably shouldn't, given his current situation and well his feelings for the detective. But at this point, they really needed to talk about everything. "Please stay."

Continued from: A few minutes ago, Chloe and Lucifer had gotten into a fight and he'd stormed out of the precinct. Ella had either seen/heard them fighting and/or watched Lucifer leave with Eve, because next thing Chloe knew, Ella had pulled her into the lab and basically told her to spill and she did. She put both hands on the counter in the lab. "He broke Julian McCaffrey's back," Chloe fumed. "He broke Julian's back!" She repeated herself a bit more vehemently. "He stood in front of me and told me that he broke his back! And then he had the audacity to tell me that it's not my place to do anything about it!" She started pacing, but then stopped and turned to Ella. "He almost thrashed Tiernan when we went to question him earlier and he ordered me- ordered me!- to leave so he could! Now, Tiernan's lawyered up and we can't get near him! And bringing Eve who hasn't been helpful in the slightest? She kept talking about how she wanted Lucifer to beat up the suspects IN FRONT OF THEM and then she and Lucifer proceeded to have a makeout sesh WAY out in the open!" She walked towards Ella. "I'm telling you, that woman is a BAD influence on him. He'd always bent the rules, but he's NEVER been this bad and it's all because of HER."

Ella listened intently to everything that Chloe was telling her. It was obvious to everyone that things were off between Lucifer and Chloe. It was also becoming just as obvious to Ella that Eve wasn't a great person for Lucifer to have around - something with the influence that she had on him just wasn't right.

"He did what?!" Not that she needed it repeated, but Ella had a hard time imagining Lucifer breaking someone's back and not feeling bad about it. She felt like her jaw would hit the floor if she were in one of those old cartoons.

"He even bossed you around?" While Lucifer was a lot of things, he didn't usually do things that anyone knew would make things more difficult for the detective. "How are you going to be able to get what you need now that Tiernan's lawyered up?" Not that Ella could blame Tiernan from what she was hearing now about Lucifer (and Eve)'s behavior earlier.

Ella shook her head disapprovingly about everything she had been told. "I knew that woman was bad news." A bit of an exaggeration since she had thought Eve seemed nice enough, especially if Lucifer liked her so much - the more she had seen of the woman though had pretty well changed those thoughts.

"A makeout sesh? Seriously?" That was actually the least surprising part of the story, but she could only imagine how jealous and/or hurt Chloe probably felt. She felt angry just thinking about her having to see it. "Do you think there's more goin' on with him than just Eve? I mean, all of this is pretty crazy behavior - even for Lucifer."

by now it's been made abundantly clear that chloe does not like to showcase her vulnerability. the strongest example to date is her pushing herself until she physically had passed out while being poisoned. the radar to handle this situation delicately is blaring in his mind, so he quickly reals back the look of initial surprise at the nearly whispered request.

the case of the week must have shaken her more than he realized. ❝ if that will make you feel more comfortable. but i'm afraid i am unable to stave off any nightmares. ❞ it's a gentle prod, seeing if she will take the bait to talk about whatever was bothering her. if he has learned anything from linda it was that voicing fears could at the very least take the edge off of them. the only move he makes from his current stance is to lean against the door frame.

Lilith looked around with vague interest at the attempt at decorations, her gaze flickering over to the collection still in the box, and wondered just what effect the mortal woman was going for. The interest of Lucifer as well as apparently immune to his effects, the detective was an undeniable curiosity, and all the more so for the simple fact that Mazikeen seemed to have...inadvertently attached herself to the woman's daughter.

"You want it to be a surprise," she surmised. Taking a breath, she looked around once more, and remembering the conversation she'd had with the surprisingly likeable therapist, Lilith decided to make an offer. "Did you..." Another deep breath at the effort. "want help at all?"
