DTP Teams Explanation [UPDATE]
Greetings everyone!
Today we bring you a small, but significant update to the structure of DTP that we hope will help fans new and old understand our group. This update is also a lead in to a very special announcement, so stay tuned for that very soon.
As many of you are already aware, DTP is divided into three teams, Team D, Team T, and Team P. Originally when we created this teams structure, the idea was to categorize different requirements and responsibilities to our members. While all members were required to upload dance covers, the different teams had different requirements concerning attending conventions and participating in DTP activities like hosting dance gatherings and workshops.
Team D members were required to attend core conventions, this being Otakon and Katsucon, in addition to as many other conventions they were able to attend. Team T members on the other hand were welcome to attend what conventions they were able, but were only required to attend one of the core conventions. Lastly Team P members held no convention requirements.
However, as our family has grown and changed we have realized that this structure no longer suits our members, or represents our group.
How to solve this problem? Simple! We have restructured our teams, changing the requirements and responsibilities of each team to best accommodate and represent our members.
Team D - Members of Team D will attend at least one “major convention” a year. What’s a major convention? Any con where DTP hosts an event, such as a dance gathering or workshop. The con can be as huge as Otakon, or as tiny as Setsucon, as long as there are at least two members of DTP to host the event, it counts.
Team T - Although we do try to explain the degree of commitment necessary to be a member of DTP, sometimes the only way to truly understand is to BE part of our family and experience the requirements first hand. Thus, Team T will now be a place for new members to gain this experience.
Newly admitted members will be part of Team T for a set period of time, and will then move on to Team D, or Team P, wherever they fit best.
This is NOT--lemme repeat that one--NOT a trial period for “potential” members. Although we are just a group of friends having fun and doing what we love, every member of DTP takes their responsibilities seriously and so expect a serious level commitment from members, new and old.
Team P will remain largely unchanged. Team P members still have no convention requirements, and are only responsible for uploading dance covers.
But who’s on what team now, you want to know? Well you’re in luck! Below we’ve included an updated roster of members.
