“Voyage with Ra upon the Solar Sea”
Golden helmsman, Ra of the million mornings, you rise from the horizon’s hush— a serpent of light uncoiling from night’s womb.
Your ship of flame cuts through the cosmic tide, each wave a world, each ripple a hymn. The stars bow as oars of radiance beat the rhythm of becoming.
We are passengers in your brilliance, souls wrapped in linen of starlight, following the wake of your solar breath. Our hearts—small suns—ignite in answer, each pulse a prayer steering the vessel onward.
Through shadowed realms you voyage, past coils of Apophis, where darkness hungers for the dawn. Yet you are the eternal flame, the ever-returning promise— your eye opens and the void trembles.
O Ra, captain of truth, pilot of the unseen wind, teach us to steer our spirits through the black rivers of doubt, to rise renewed with each turning of the sun.
Let us be among your crew— to haul the ropes of daybreak, to polish the mirror of heaven, to sing your radiant name as the cosmos unfolds its endless sea.
When dusk calls you home, we too descend, carried in the hush of your golden silence, dreaming of the next voyage upon your boundless, burning tide.
Routine as a pagan
so, I haven't talked much about my religious practice on here, and I want to change that! My spirituality is a really important and beautiful part of my life. So I'm going to talk about my routines!!
I'm autistic, and I depend on routine and habit to get pretty much everything done. While I've been practicing paganism in one way or another since I was ten, I've gone through long periods of not interacting with my spirituality. The solution I've found to prevent this is to create a routine!! Having a specific time and way and place to connect with the Gods has really helped me.
So, here's my routine: every day, I take some time to pray in the morning and the evening. I shake my sistrum, call to my Patrons, and welcome or say goodbye to the sun. In the evenings, I also give a daily offering of fresh water and natrom. About once a week, on the full, new, and both quarter moons, I do a ritual. I shake my sistrum, call to my Patrons, do any spellwork I want to get done, sing hymns and dance, and give bigger offerings (usually bread, milk, water, and honey). I also like to meditate, but i don't always have the patience for it '^^
I also celebrate the solstices, equinoxes, and Wep Ronpet- but I don't have a specific ritual for those days yet. I would like too, but I've been struggling to find or make something that feels... big enough, if that makes sense.
Some other small things I've been trying to incorporate into my schedule: stretching and excersing for the Leviathan, journaling and wearing glamored eyeliner for Lord Lucifer, doing a daily Tarot reading for Mother Nyx, appreciating and basking in the sunlight for Ra, and singing more for the Corruption.
Dua Re, lord of creation, father of all,
He who dies and is reborn each day,
The golden sun upon the horizon,
Who’s eye is Sekhmet-Bast;
As winter’s shadows grow longer,
And the shortest day approaches,
The people turn to you, oh Shining One.
Dua Re, be our light in winter’s darkness!
May Sekhmet, your Eye,
Turn her arrows of sickness away from us.
May Bastet, your Eye,
Protect us in the darkness.
May Hut-Hor, your Eye,
Bring us joy and revelry in your absence.
Dua Re! Dua Re! Dua Re!
Cattle of Ra, why has no one told me that worshipping the lord Ra was such a nice experience?
Since last week I’ve been almost exclusively and intentionally worshipping and talking to the Kemetic gods, especially Ra and he’s so…nice!!!
He’s one of the coolest and nicest deities I’ve ever interacted with. With him, I felt protected, watched after and guided, almost like an ox led by its shepherd
Ra is just so “WOW” it feels wonderful to talk about it
Worshipping Ra and the Kemetic gods has shifted my whole cosmology, and I don’t really know how to make it work with the one that I have already have formed, like how I associate thunder with Zeus, but now hear Sutekh roar in the clouds. I guess I’ll have to find a way to merge the two but it may be quite hard, so your support and prayers are appreciated
Dua Ra, dua Netjeru, χαίρε Θεούς!
Devotional poem for the winter solstice and birth of the new Ra:
Under the light of the old year's sun
I give an offering unto you
O' Great Ra,
Joyous of birth and warm,
O' Great Aten,
He who delivers the breath of life
Cold nips at the world
On the day of the shortest sun
From Nut's mouth you go
Until born anew into her loving embrace
Alight upon the mound
Upon the lotus
Upon the body of Geb which you warm
And direct Shu to give the breath of life
Humanity and all that is
Receives the ankh from your many hands
Oh great and old Ra,
Allow your anger to consume you not
May Ma'at grant you clarity
As Hathor shelters you upon her back
To heavens, among the stars you reign
Oh great and young Ra,
Your reign has yet begun
The ship has been moored right for you
The docks blessed holy for you
The gods hold their weapons for you
Set and Horus offer their arms to you
He who upholds Ma'at
He who enlightened upon
The waters of ever-changing Nun
He who graced the petals of the lotus
May the cycle ever renew you
Breath back the life that you give
Dua o' Ra
Dua o' Aten
Lords of the land
The purveyors of life
The givers of warmth
The hands who hold the Ankh
Dua Ra! the defeater of the wrongs
