Last year December I hosted a photography safari in the Dubai desert. You´d expect a dead place, maybe your typical camel but there´s a lot more life than meets the eye. For many rabbits, wild cats, mice, hedgehogs, this desert is their home. Probably one of the most majestic animals here is the Arabian oryx, a desert antilope. Right around sunset, we saw a small herd slowly on their way to somewhere. One of them had gone astray and walked up a dune and totally made me happy with this classic minimalistic silhouette safari shot. On a sidenote: There's a ton of companies out there offering desert tours which include dune bashing with big trucks and completely destroying nature. I'm sure it's fun, but on such a large scale, it's not. It's disrupting all the ecosystems and wildlife, including this beautiful Oryx. @platinumheritage is a sustainable tourism company incorporating 3 sustainabilty pillars; social, and environmental. They donate generoulsy to nature conservation and education, and are the only (!) company with a fully solar powered camp. It may be a bit more expensive but the experience is worth it in every sense, so I'm glad I teamed up with them. I'm no saint but I'm trying my best to think about these things when deciding where my money goes. If you're considering going on safari anywhere, it's probably a good idea to check or ask the company if they actually support or destory nature. #dubaidesert #arabianoryx #silhouette #dubailover #dubai #desertsafari #oryx #arabianoryx #desertlife #ecotourism #dunes #wildlifesafari #safari #sustainablesafari #wildlifeonearth #wildlifephotography #wildlife_photography #wildlife_shots #wildlife_captures #uaesafari #dubaitourism #exploredubai #luminaters #illgrammers #stellar_shots #theimaged #postcardplaces #natgeo #natgeotravel #mydubai (at Dubai Desert) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGhQUaAJ4vd/?igshid=ar2baypby8un
