“eh?” akane looks up from where she stopped on their evening walk. she’s crouched over a slumbering, drunken figure of a man, someone who clearly passed out on the street after having too much to drink. when she stands again, it becomes painfully clear what she just did.

she’d handcuffed him to the railing next to him.

“oh, junpei-kun... sorry.” despite such a disturbing, inexplicable act having been carried out by her hand, akane is all sheepish smiles and sweet apologies. “this guy... he’s wanted for assault on two different charges.”

is that why she was apparently carrying handcuffs in her bag? did she see this coming?

8.  What keeps your muse up at night?

fear, naturally. fear of her own failure, fear of losing control, fear of being helpless and unable to do anything. what she fears the most probably is the latter, because it’s connected very strongly to the trauma she bore from the first nonary game. she has nightmares about burning in flames, and she has nightmares about any and all of her deaths, because she’s so strongly connected to the morphogenetic field. she doesn’t fear death so much as other people because she’s experienced it before, but she’s also afraid that she’ll be just minding her own business one day and some other version of her will take her place and leave her to die in that other version’s body. she doesn’t sleep very well without supplements, as a result. it was probably aoi who originally convinced her to start taking them, because it hurts him, too, to hear her awaken every night, screaming.

29.  Has your muse ever had a pet? If so, what type?

she had the class rabbits, of course, which she took care of for quite a while! but she hasn’t had a pet of her own. she and aoi just never had the money, and then when they did have the money, they didn’t have the time. once she starts living with junpei she’d probably convince him to get a rabbit... and maybe a cat, too, because she finds it funny when sigma’s over and he can’t stop talking in cat puns.

13.  What is your muse’s favorite candy?

she likes strawberry kitkats and strawberry gummy candy. pretty much anything strawberry. she also likes chocolates quite a bit. combining those two flavors is like heaven to her.

14.  Does your muse have a “victory song” and if so, what is it?

she doesn’t really have a specific one. if she’s really feeling it, she’ll play triumphant video game music. but usually, when she’s triumphant, she’s playing a game and the game just kind of... plays it for her! so she really doesn’t have to bother, unless she wants to make a joke, and then she’ll play something on her phone. usually something recognizable, like pokemon or final fantasy victory songs.

unfortunately for me, tumblr still isn’t working on firefox, so i have to use the Dreaded google chrome. i can’t help but feel like this is a marketing scheme. anyway! i’ve got a whole playlist of charlescore songs, and i love them. it’s hard for me to pick one, but i’m probably going to go with i was never there for this. it’s, like, the only song my brother has ever rec’d to me, so it has a special place in my heart regardless. i think it also fits charles fairly well. the vibe of the song... it’s repetitive and almost shambling in the way the tune and the backing track goes. “when it’s time, when it’s time, when it’s time / it won’t matter, it won’t matter / it was like i was never there” really hits the same for me as charles’ line in canon: “there’s nothing to be sad about. all ended well, didn’t it?”

also, the bridge reminds me of him and anri, real talk. 

ooh, now i know what love is and i know it ain’t you for sure you’d rather something toxic so i poison myself again, again till i feel nothing

that, and then the “if i keep going, i won’t make it  /  and it’s all because of you”. it reminds me of the “it’s not my fault” interlude they have, and god it just hits. im passionate about this song. also it makes me worry for my brother’s mental health
