hey tumblr what the hell is this
Little dumbass and her little dumbass leg!
It’s been over 2 months now since Yen fell off the 8th floor, survived, put us through hell, and underwent a full recovery with zero lessons learned in her stupid little head. Her once-broken leg sometimes still hangs straight when she reclines, but she runs and jumps around as often as ever.
This dumbass is getting her final surgery done on saturday and then she’ll walk again and be the cute disaster she always was! ♥️ glorious bean shot by @etodraws
Yen is back <3
After almost a month and a half of surgeries and recovery care she is up, about, bouncy, sociable, and always one to liquify her corporeal form inside her favorite blanket fort.
I’m grateful for so many things we lucked out on the day she fell from the balcony, despite the terrible fact itself. Things could have frighteningly easily gone south, but instead we kept pulling through. With a bit of a limp and exactly zero lessons learned, she finally got her last stitches out a few days ago and is back to wreak havok upon the world.
REMOVE HIM NOW
When the comp teach finally teaches the class how to code in colors and font in programming in hs so you decide to use the best colors and cool mature vibes font for "originality"
We had a big day today.
(yes this is another one of my sappy kitty health updates, and I fully support your right to potentially be fed up with these, for which I apologize. But I do genuinely feel better on the inside every time I wordvomit her state, so bear with me a bit longer pls)
The surgeon cleared her for and performed orthopedic surgery on her hind left leggo. She broke it to hell during her fall from the 8th floor, fracturing and displacing an entire chunk of her joint (bone AND cartilage) from its original position, but we could not do anything with that until her lungs were fully operational following the shock collapse. It was a vital prerequisite for her surviving the anesthesia and the bone-setting procedure itself. As of this morning, she was deemed ready enough.
We had to fill out and sign a form of consent which warned us of anesthetic complications and potential death in animals undergoing it. An obvious formality but GOD DAMN MAN
The surgery went.. relatively okay, with the primary goal of restoring and affixing her joint position being a solid success. However, one of the metal rods that was supposed to go through her bone to keep the broken pieces together kept screwing itself out of position, which didn’t really hurt the end result as much as it inhibited her movement even more than it should have. A small sacrifice.
Because she survived, and she woke up, and that’s all that matters! After another night at the hospital we’ll be able to take her home and care for her on our own ❤️
I will never get used to seeing post-anesthetic cats though. They’re so helpless and disoriented, makes my chest hurt :/
tl;dr this dumbass survived within an inch of her life and she keeps on fighting!! A true inspiration and an icon <3
