Constellations Colliding
Summary: Both you and James have two things in common. You both speak more than one language and now you both have a child together. I guess it's never too early to learn a new language, or 5-
Disclaimers: soft fluffy fluffy fluff, mentions of baby blowouts (not descriptive, but still), direct lyrics and translations. ALL COPYRIGHT OF THE SONG GOES TO DUMBO AND DISNEY STUDIOS, DONT SUE ME. Please enjoy
On warm sunny mornings like these, he would usually find you taking a nap with the baby, in the backyard in the soft mossy lawn with the overgrown vines and wild flowers that you cultivated meticulously these past few years. So when James couldn't find the love and joys of his life in the same place they always were, he has a teensy tiny heart palpitation (don't listen to him, he was going insane).
He searched top and bottom, calling your name like he usually does, trying to keep the trembling out of his tone as to not worry you.
Where he did find you was the nursery. Months before the birth, you both decided on a red theme, a symbol of warding off bad luck and misfortune, wanting nothing but the best your budding offspring.
He could hear you before he could see you, a soft, soothing, rumbling hum coming from behind the door, your child's name painted in Hangul.
"Hijo del corazón. Deja ya de llorar."
"Son of the heart. Stop crying."
He cracked the door open slowly, thankfully he waxed the sliding doors a week prior to this. He could see your hair cascading down your back, warm skin glowing in the sunlight pouring in through the glass windows. He noticed how you cradled the baby close, reddened cheeks and a slight fetal position meant that just moments before he came home, there had been a big tantrum from the little guy.
"Junto a tí, yo voy a estar, y nunca más te han de hacer mal."
"Next to you I will be, and they will never hurt you again."
It was a beautiful tune, comforting as you swayed with the baby, just as Mrs. Jumbo, Dumbo's mother, did with him in a time of great pain and in need of genuine comfort.
Dumbo had been your favorite movie to watch before the baby got here, and even though it made you sob every time, you requested to put it on every time.
"Tus ojitos de luz, El llanto no ha de nublar."
"Your eyes of light, crying shouldn't cloud."
As you revealed more of your side profile, he could see you shining just as bright as the day he met you. Young and sprightful, and oh so beautiful. When he had first met you, it took his breath away, almost making him wheeze in the effort to regain his composure. Now here you were, standing in his home, with your guys baby and singing him back to sleep.
"Ven, mi amor, nadie nos ha de separar."
"Come my love, no one has to separate us."
You continue to sing, to rub your hands delicately into his skin and keep the fussy complaints at bay. You shush and sway, like a gentle tree in the breeze, a whisper of branches and leaves brushing against each other delicately in the wake of strong gusts. As graceful as a leave drifting down wind and landing in a still pond, giving into the whisper of life.
Before he approached, he let you sing one last line, as much as hated to interrupt, he wanted to give affection to his joy and love personified.
"Si te vieran como yo, te darían su calor."
"If they saw you as I did, they'd give you their warmth."
Finally he fully shuffled into the nursery and announced myself.
"How is he doing, my love." He asks as he presses a soft doting kiss to the nape of your neck.
You perk up at the sound of him and fully round to direct that beautiful smile at your doting lover.
"Mi amor." You hum before bouncing the baby gently. "He is feeling well, just had a bit of a blow out and did not like the way it felt." Your voice was tired but still very lively, giving way to how much loved this baby no matter how exhausted you were in the end.
James steps over to help. "Here." He offered, sliding the baby out of your hold and slipping him into the crib, parting his back with a firm hand to keep him from getting fussy whilst James swaddled him with perfect precision. After getting swaddled, James turned on his stuffy that had the sound of a heart beat to keep him satisfied with his sleep. He turned on the mobile and baby monitor as a precaution, better safe than sorry.
"There." He whispered as he stepped back, your hands already smoothing over him, sliding from his lower back all the way into a firm grip on his shoulders.
"You're such a good father." You praise, not surprised by his actions, no. He does this all the time, an A+ father always, but it's never bad to compliment someone when they are doing good.
James turned around with the little grin and gently kissed your cheek with reverence and borderline worship. "You're a better parent. I have all this work and you just stay here round the clock to teach our amazing offspring how to be human."
You shrug. "Someone has to. And besides, how else is he supposed to inherit 5+ languages. It's never to early to learn."
"Yes, because you have no patience." He quips playfully.
"I too have patience!" You protest weakly, even though you know it's 100% true.
You both then shuffle quietly out of the nursery and close the sliding door behind you before you shuffled into the room right across the hall which was both you and James' and flop onto the bed for a well deserved nap.
Your work reminded him of a line from the song. Of course he looked up the lyrics, how else was he to learn more about your language.
"Como un sol, tú me das luz, y das calor a mi vivir"
"Like a sun, you give me life, and you give heat to my life."
You were the warmest, brightest, strongest person he would ever have the pleasure of meeting. If he could live just off of your presence, he would, instead, he decided to just get dinner started to feed his tired partner.

AN: This was kinda rushed by kinda not at the same time. I enjoyed writing this one despite how short it was in comparison to the others. I hope you enjoy this whether you wish to have children or not (like me, no kids in my future, hopefully).
Bye sweethearts, thanks for all the love and support on my last post.
