what’s okami ?

Okami is a video game!! It was first released in 2006 but later they remade it in HD and that was released in I believe 2012? And recently it came out on the Nintendo Switch! 

In Okami you play as the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu, 

(She takes the form of a white wolf) and the main plot of the game is to defeat Orochi and the darkness once and for all after waking up 100 years after her initial battle with Orochi. The problem is, Amaterasu has lost all of her Celestial Powers after her 100 year nap and now she has to re-gather all of her Celestial Brush Techniques from the other Celestial Gods that are scattered across Japan while defeating monsters and restoring the land. On her journey she is accompanied by this Ponical, Issun,

(This guy) who wants to learn all the Celestial Brush Techniques. He’s about the size of a bug and he rides around on Amaterasu’s back as they travel. 

It’s a suuppper fun game and if you like games like Spyro or Zelda I really recommend it. And one of the best things about it?

You can feed animal!!! Like there is a specific button to feed other animals!!! It’s a small detail but I love it!!

I get the store brand organic stuff that comes in a jar that you pop yourself. I normally pop it in a pot and I don't add anything really expect for some cinnamon sometimes (butter and salt isn't good for birds).

i love ur birds they’re so funky !!! do you have any general advice for someone who’s looking to get a cockatiel soon ? and how to help one adjust to a new environment .. and very importantly how to switch them to a better diet ? ( i’ve had budgies before btw , but never a tiel )

My general advice is always research, research, research! And when you think you've researched enough, research some more!! You can never know too much 😊

Adjusting any birb to a new environment takes patience and time. I've never kept my tiels in their cage (after their wings were clipped for safety reasons), even when I 1st brought them home. But I did give them space and let them explore their cages and my room for about a week before starting to handle them.

As for introducing them to a healthier diet, cockatiels are known to be picky eaters. Mine won't eat any other veggies besides sprouts. Miss Mo tries to eat whatever food I have, even if it's bad for her. Sweet Pea only wants his pellets, seebs, and sprouts.

When I got them, they were on an all seed diet. I ended up buying the ZuPreem fruit blend and doing a mix of seeds & pellets, reducing the amount of seed each week until their bowls only had pellets in it. I've found that's the best way to go about it. I will be switching them over to the regular ZuPreem pellets eventually tho.
