In retrospect, we had a bit of a Family Circus weekend.
And because we’re not kids anymore, by the time we woke up this morning our muscles were really.
Really.
Sore.
And apparently we each arrived at completely opposite conclusions about what this means. Because Kimmer just said
"You know what this means, don't you?"
And I said
"Yup."
Then she said
"This means we need to exercise more."
Whoops. Nope.
That was not where I was going.
We began yesterday morning with a cargo van from J&R Truck Rentals in Lynnwood for a pretty massive dump run featuring yard waste. No... not what animals left behind but very much rotting logs, pinecones, grass clippings, pine needles, and so on. It was the natural conclusion to Kimmer's yard work the day before.
After, we went through the house and packed up more stuff fit for the dump. And because we'd previously taken Susan's old mattress away... there's now a curious overlay on our own efforts to divest. As in, what if someone else had to go through our stuff, figuring out on the fly what to keep, what to donate, and what to toss?
Not my favorite line of thought ever... but there you are.
So we hit the dump, the local "transfer station", one more time with a piggyback visit to recycling 'cause we had a bunch of that, too. Then we returned the van coming right up on five.
After that, it was hit showers 'n beer...
Actually.
I'm pretty sure we had the beer first.
Actually, right after we returned the van we hit McDonald's for ice cream cones.
So then after the ice cream, the beer, the hot showers, quick trips to Sprouts and Fred Meyer, we topped off our Sunday workday with burgers 'n fries from Li'l Woody's down in Ballard right next to the movie theater.
It's always a treat, we always sit in the same seats in front of the ceiling high windows facing the street, and we always think about that time we had front row seats, right there, to an epic rain, thunder and lightning storm one night.
By the time we're home again, it’s coming up on 9pm. Still amazingly light outside with Kimmer fully intent on getting half of her charting done.
Haha. Nope.
That plan went up in smoke just as soon as her body became aware of an actual bed in her vicinity... so we caught season 11, episode 6 of Call The Midwife (the one with Sister Monica Joan and the clairvoyant)... until it was lights out.
And then we woke up this morning and our muscles were really.
Really.
Sore.😐
