QOTD: What's a book that has captured your own experience well? ☁️ The Surprising Power of Good Dumpling 🥟 feels so incredibly familiar, about a Chinese-Australian teen living in Sydney. Her mother is suffering from mental illness and depression and Anna steps up to look after her family while her father is away at his restaurant. ☁️ This book captures the Asian experience in Australia so incredibly accurately and I'm so glad that teens everywhere can relate to this book now. There's lots of discussions about casual racism, strict parents, studying under unrealistic expectations and of course, lots of dumplings and delicious food. ☁️ This book will be out soon on 5 August in Australia!
