I'm on my period and it genuinely pains me that I cannot experience the Colosseum when it was in its prime. I've seriously had that thought atleast 10 times this week. SOS.

SPOILERS FOR GLADIATOR II

Honestly I think Caracalla maybe wouldn't have killed Geta without Macrinus doing it for him TBH like he cut his hand and reacted childishly happy like

"Oh he can bleed"

I think he for once wanted to feel more important or stronger than his brother but idk he seemed playful about it and like, I strongly feel he may have stopped before killing him or that Geta could have grabbed his arms or the knife

Watching it again is SO heartbreaking tbh

They're literally like two lost little kids, they look so scared of the ruckus outside too. like Geta looks outside terrified and Caracalla hiding under the table

Macrinus didn't have to do that to them

I think they needed guidance and would have followed him anyway that's what's so sad to me. Like they saw in him a missing father figure and he just didn't care for them at all, he could have let them live and puppeted them but he just didn't feel like it out of pure cruelty
