Because it almost slipped my mind, I might as well tell y’all about the character I played at D&D last Saturday, because I think you’d like them.
Their name is Nobody and they are a Lizardfolk Mystic (Read: 5e’s Psychic class currently in playtesting)
Their backstory is that they’re a mutant “next stage in evolution” of the Lizardfolk species who can feel emotions, but is really bad at it and thusly Charisma is his dump stat, and left his tribe due to feeling undervalued.
The first thing they did was eat a rotting squirrel off of a trash pile.
The adventure we were playing was a 5e conversion of 1e’s Dungeonland, basically a D&D Alice In Wonderland, and thusly there was some of the Drink Me shrinking stuff around, which he promptly hoarded in several bottles.
Things he also hoarded: Several different pieces of mushroom, the eating cakes, a clipping of a stinky bush that exploded into a Stinking Cloud spell when he cut it, some pink water from an ever-color-shifting potion-watefall, and a coral ring and onyx cone from the same trash pile he ate that squirrel out of.
This collecting tendency bit him in the ass when he got squashed by a toad while trying to cut off a fungus sample. After the toad was killed and turned back into fungus, he promptly swiped a hunk of it.
The bottle of Drink Me came in useful when he used them to “water” a preaching jack-in-the-pulpit plant to shrink him down so his Charm effect wouldn’t work.
He also used that stink-bush piece to keep the Cheshire Cat from eating us by rubbing it on himself and saying something to the effecto ”I AM NOT WELL SEASONED FOR YOU”. The cat disappeared shortly thereafter.
He drove off the behir-disguised-as-the-hookah-caterpillar by giving it a “Bad Trip” via a psionic power that induced creepy paranoid halucinations.
He avoided the mind-controlling effects of the Mad Hatter’s hats when he tried to throw them on us via catching it on his foot.
So yeah, a fun character I think y’all’d like.
Also, shoutout to @aberrantceramics who not only DMed that, but also made the conversion, without the Save-or-Dies of the orginal, and who’d probably be willing to shoot ya a copy if ya messaged him!
