Dunjungle bursts out of Early Access and into full release with v1.0.01, bringing its fast, action-packed roguelike game to Steam Deck and Linux via Windows PC. All of this is made possible by the continued creativity and passion of developer Bruno Bombardi. Which you can now find on Steam with 89% Very Positive reviews.
Astrolabe Games is finally ready to let the jungle loose.
After a long journey through Early Access and an outpouring of overwhelmingly positive player feedback, Dunjungle is officially launching worldwide. No more waiting. No more “it’s almost ready.” The full version is here, playable on Steam Deck (Verified), and Linux via Windows PC on Steam. So yes, Linux players are invited to the party.
And this jungle doesn’t play nice.
At its heart, Dunjungle is a fast, brutal, action-packed roguelike starring an unlikely hero: an ape diving headfirst into a jungle consumed by a corruptive force. Once peaceful creatures have been twisted into monsters, ancient ruins are crawling with danger, and the setting itself also feels like it wants you dead. Since it probably does.
Every run drops you into ever-changing dungeons filled with temples, crypts, traps, and weirdness you won’t see coming. You’ll fight, loot, die, and repeat, a lot. There are no checkpoints here. When you fall, you start over. But that’s the magic. Each death teaches you something new, and every run feels like another chapter in a story you’re slowly mastering.
The depth in Dunjungle is no joke. The full release includes 16 unlockable classes, 33 main weapons, and 39 secondary weapons and skills spread across five major types. On top of that, you’ll also find over 100 powerful relics that can completely change how you play. Want to burn enemies alive? Freeze them solid? Shock them into submission? Blow them away with wind? You can do all of it, and even merge elements to create terrifying new weapon effects.
The jungle itself is massive, with seven distinct biomes, each packed with unique enemies, layouts, and environmental threats. Every biome comes in three difficulty tiers, and guarding your progress are 17 boss encounters that will absolutely test your reflexes, builds, and patience.
But not everything in Dunjungle wants to kill you. Along your journey, you’ll meet strange NPCs, some lost, some trapped, some just… vibing. Help them out, and they might stick around, unlocking new tools, weapons, or advantages for future runs. Progress carries forward in meaningful ways, even when you fail.
Visually, this title leans hard into pixel art charm, paired with absurd humor. Expect irrelevant item descriptions, annoying NPCs who think they’re better than you, monkeys (obviously), weird fish with legs, and treasure chests that absolutely should not be trusted.
Dunjungle is chaotic, punishing, funny, and deeply replayable. It’s the kind of action-packed roguelike game where you say “one more run” and suddenly it’s 3 a.m. Whether you’re on Steam Deck or Linux, the Windows build lets you explore the magic via Proton. Since the jungle is open, and it’s waiting to see how long you survive. Find it on Steam for $7.99 USD / £7.99 / 7,80€ with the 20% discount.
