I finished S1 of Halo, and I'm thinking.... if Lena is the one fostered by the Covenant, in kind of the same way Makee was, in the sense she was found in squalor and pain, and raised to be something more, it would kind of make sense for her brother Lex to be there when she's taken.

The Covenant arrive on the planet as the both of them are being beaten by USNC soldiers, and when they identify Lena as the Blessed One, Lex sees that she's what they want, and acts in deference to her, which gives the Covenant pause. Lex whispers in her ear to act strong, like the queen in the storybook he reads to her at night. So Lena stands, and agrees to go with them-- so long as Lex comes with her. Seemingly beyond reason, the Covenant agree, and allow Lex to accompany them.

So Lex and Lena live with the Covenant for decades. Lena, empathetic as she is, adores and cherishes them, sees them as her family. Meanwhile, Lex is treated as little more than her acolyte. He chafes at the attention showered upon his younger sister, but slowly earns the trust of the Covenant leaders, and begins to work long-game machinations that will inevitably end in his favor.

When Lena is sent in search of the artifacts (and the one they call Demon), Lex remains behind with the Covenant, and for the first time Lena sees the universe through her own two eyes. She sees humanity, the good and the bad. And she sees Master Chief-- Kara-- with whom she forms an instant connection. A connection that soon has her doubting everything she thought to be true.

When her new allies among Silver Team come into conflict with the beings who raised her-- including her own brother-- who will Lena choose?

The hororrs happen. bot ends up trekking off to inanimate Island. promptly join the survivor gang and fight cobs. the get fucking scarred however while fighting cobs. because I like my platonic botphone parallels.

they are passed tf Out after that. wake up after cobs is Dead. They see fantube, book it to them and collapses in test tubes arms for a minute. once they're Awake fully and mephone is leaving, bot runs up to him and generates a cookie for him as a parting gift. then fantube family and the shimmers dip. with cobs gone though the shimmers and fantube family by extention vist far more often.
