This 1969 house, that looks like the mother ship, is listed as a condo, but it looks like a single unit home. It's very unusual, though. 3bds, 1.5ba, 1,844 sq ft, $425k + $633mo. HOA fee.

There's only this house in the area, so it must be a duplex. This is the entrance to the unit.

It's pretty nice inside. Look at the those beams, visible thru the windows.

Just did a double-duplex commission for a couple in my old hood. They have these lovely little places up for rental on airbnb, so if you’re making plans to visit Austin, you should look them up.

Completely unexpected interior in this unassuming 1930 duplex in Philadelphia, PA. 3bds, 2ba, 1,290sqft, reduced $4.1k to $210k.

It has a very nice porch with a little wood stove and some lattice for privacy.

Open the door and look at this. It's not how they usually renovate these homes- this one is really decorated.

They've got an open concept living/dining room combo with a long mirrored wall. The remaining 3 walls are stone.

From there, you enter the kitchen.

The kitchen has an industrial style double fridge.

Then, off to the side, there's this little brick walled bar room with doors to the patio. It's a cute entertaining space.

The powder room also houses a cool orange washer/dryer set.

Thanks to Ingek73 for finding this canal house that was remodeled in 2018 with such interesting architectural features. It's located in Bellamybuurt-South Amsterdam, which they say is a great place for ex-pats. It's a 6th fl. duplex penthouse, 6bds, 2.5ba, €2.65m / $2.72m + €714.24mo. / $733mo. HOA.

Very roomy layout w/a giant skylight.

Lots of natural light and 2 doorways to the terrace.

Beautiful wall and stairs.

There's even a wine rack underneath.

The extension on the island is much better than a counter, it's an actual table. Kitchen opens to a terrace.

I wonder if that beam would hold an adult, too.

This standard 1998 duplex in a development of rows of gray homes in Tinton Falls, NJ looked like it would be just as bland inside. But, decor decisions were made in this 3bd, 3ba, 1,969 sq ft home. Asking $610k + $210mo. HOA fee. Take a look at the surprising interior.

I did not expect extra long Grecian columns trimmed in gold.

The living room is kind or dwarfed by the piano, b/c it's a big piece for a standard room. The wall border looks 3 dimensional.

Feature wall in the dining room has a mural of Paris and neon blue lights above the crown molding.

The family room has a very large mural that looks like it may be Greece or Rome.

I just noticed the small black fireplace. I wonder if it's built in.

The family room directly faces the kitchen.

It's a good size. The white cabinetry trimmed in gold with black counters and backsplash make a nice contrast. The kitchen also features the blue lights around the ceiling.

Going up the stairs- I didn't expect the black carpet to continue beyond the stairs.

Oh, look at the display over the front door. Wow. Florals, a Grecian statue, can't tell what the head is, but it looks like it has an Indian building behind it, and a carousel horse.

The primary bedroom features a fireplace in the wall next to the bed.

And, this is the ensuite. Lots of statuary.

Second floor sitting room. I think that this is the 2nd bd. and looks like it has a fireplace.

And, this is the 3rd bd.

The small 3 pc. bath matches the Eastern theme.

Next to the stairs they've got a hot tub.

The yards aren't separated, so maybe the grass is cut by the HOA. If they provide that service, they don't allow fences. The 8,276 sq ft lot goes back to the woods behind the property.

This is very different. It's a 1984 Duplex in Abilene, TX. The price is for both sides. One side is done very conservatively/modern in gray. The other side has personality, but I have no idea what you'd call the style. All totaled, it has 4bds, 4ba, 2,336 sq ft, and is only $405k for both units. Which unit would you choose to live in and which would you rent out?

So, the first unit has dark gray walls, a lovely floor, contrasting white tiles on the fireplace, and natural sunlight.

It's an open concept with the dining area and living room in one. I think that maybe the dining table is supposed to be by the serving window.

So, the front door opens to the stairs and dining area.

In the galley kitchen, they painted the outdated oak cabinetry gray, got new appliances, plus a cool black double sink. There's an opening at the sink so that you can see into the living room.

Then upstairs, you have a large primary bedroom with a lighted vanity bench and double closet. Behind the bed, curtains block the pony wall and opening overlooking the 1st fl.

There's a standard 3pc. bath and the cabinets were also painted gray.

The 2nd bd. is cute. It also has a double closet.

The 2nd bath has a little medicine chest and a separate toilet room.

The sliders open to a small patio and nice fenced yard that separates it from the other unit.

Now let's go next door. Cute entrance.

This unit is also gray, but with a twist. It has wallpaper and a wood toned floor. I didn't know what was covering the walls, but when it was pointed out to me that they're book covers, I couldn't believe it. I would've never expected them to be books. Now, I can see that they are, but they ruined the walls- they're all over the house. What a job it would be to get them off and repair the walls!

The fireplace is the same style, but the tiles are light gray. And, they have a stained glass window, too.

They have a sitting area, plus a table and chairs, by the kitchen service window.

The kitchen has wood toned cabinets and new appliances, as well. It also has a double dark gray sink. I'm getting tired of that wall design everywhere.

This bedroom is quite interesting. Looks like they love the book walls so much, they got them in black, too.

The 3pc. bath has a cool Renaissance shower curtain. I like the mirror, too.

As you can see, this primary bedroom hasn't blocked the opening overlooking the living room.

It also has a vanity table, and a very different look. But, look the wall- those books are everywhere!

The bath in this unit is the same, but looks a lot different.

The yard is similar to the other side. 7,143 sq ft lot. So, which unit would you live in?
