"the jhumkas look good on you" the guy on the pandal said, who was standing beside you nearly squished together due to the massive crowd (you wouldn't see him again). you've been wearing them since morning, your ears hurt, but you do look pretty in those jhumkas don't you? your makeup is gone because of the sweat. your left shoulder is almost stiff from carrying that bag. you could really benefit from a comb and mirror. your heels are begging to give up from walking so much. you still feel that it was a bad idea to eat that bhelpuri. and you really shouldn't be pandal hopping at 12:34 a.m. wasting your sleep for all this. but you like how the city shines, the city lights. so, so magical... enchanting.
it's durga puja. and all of this is so very worth it.
