In my AU Karis (Arthur pre-amnesia) is still attacked by Orin and shipped off on the nauteloid, but wakes up on the beach with all his memories intact. He sets off with the intention of doing whatever it takes to get his cult back. He lies to his companions, telling them he's an amnesiac, but when meets dashing hero Wyll Ravengard, things get complicated. He decides to try to use the Duke's son to climb his way back into power. Things change after he encourages Wyll to kill Karlach. Having just being forced to kill Alfira and rewarded with the deathstalker mantle, Wyll's situation feels a little too uncomfortably familiar. The longer he gets to know Wyll, the more he hopes that maybe, someday, Wyll will stop him. Eventually, he gets what he wanted.
