.actually for all the complaining I do about not being able to render, I realised maybe I shouldn’t even bother. I don’t mean this negatively because I know rendering is important and I do follow a lot of artists who have very sexy rendering skills, but I’ve been trying for years to figure out how it’s done and I can’t. Perseverance is not enough.

.however, what I do enjoy is linework, I changed my entire outlook on linework a few years ago by taking away pen pressure and removing something else that I knew I could never get my head around. Even in my sketchbook rendering never comes as something important, it’s all about lines and individual marks, and the structure of an image and whether it’s linework on top a sketch or just linework.

.im jealous of people who can render, and I’ll never be that person who makes sexy renaissance portraits, but my god I am going to lock in on linework.
