I risk sounding like a PVV ahh nazi when saying this so I´ll try to sound as nuanced as possible, but I do kind of understand the conservative fear of the anglification in the Netherlands. I´m very fond of dutch music and literature and such. I´ve noticed how many people in any ity in the country speak English nowadays. I don´t generally mind that, I despise the deliberate immigrant ´crisis´ the governent designed and i think the Netherlands is an amazing multicultural country. That being said, I am of the opinion that Dutch culture is quite valuable. The value we assign our culture, however, is misused by bigoted, racist individuals to justify exiling people of colour from our country. So instead of blaming people for our culture dying out, I think the government should make an active effort to make our culture accessible to non native Dutch people. make an internet archive. Put subtitles on music in multiple languages. Educate people, show them what to love about our country and what history to despise. show people our triumphs and our grave mistakes. Anyways here´s a song by Dutch artist Froukje, she´s very good.
