Oh btw my take on Johnny is that he's not actually white, since Keanu himself is mixed. I took the liberty to make him mixed, cus I am too, and characters who are white passing but hung up onto their roots matter to me a lot. Just a tidbit of headcanon.

For further deets: he's half-Asian, his mother being a Kang Tao mid-to-high rank operative who married a British asshole of noble descent for the social status.

Long story short she had more than just Johnny as a kid but he was her first "daughter", whom she planned to groom as her actual heir, but instead Johnny came out as trans, took on the name of his white great-grandfather Robert, on a whim, in an attempt at keeping face, and got sent to kindly fuck off to Texas, College City where his paternal uncle had a farm, thanks you kindly.

I just really like the idea of Johnny being someone keenly aware of codes and horror of rich and high society for having been bred into it, only to get spat out by it, and trying to remake a new Him when yet another try at becoming someone (through the war, which is something a lot of queer men try).

And then he ends up cornering himself into not being able to ever be his true self with anyone, because not only is he deeply disgusted and ashamed of what he was, he's also not even sure of what he is and what he could have been, or where he came from.

Oh and he never fucking told anyone he was trans, and he surgically removed the scar, in fact he wouldn't fuck women without taking his top until after they'd been removed- and he certainly wouldn't have been caught fucking men, no, only Kerry and then Denny and maybe some cute twinks and groupies but that didn't count, and anyway he was always on top and came on top so it doesn't matter, he was just The Man, no need to specify what kind, he was just The Man.
