Since its a rule to not use your powers outside of the class, how would you be able to punish an individual who does with a more subtle ability like telepathy, or what happens if someone were practicing in their room?

the school has certain programs and systems that are able to detect certain powers and specific malfunctions within the academy. so students who do use their powers such as the subtle abilities you’ve mentioned are able to be detected with these programs ( programs that are much like the ones used to identify if the fetus or general child has the x gene or is exhibiting abilities unseen by the human eye ) . if a student were found practicing in their room, they would be instructed to instead practice their abilities in the fields appropriate for practice such as the Mimeo, the training center and gym. 

so the punishment for those who use their abilities are the same for those who exhibit physical and visible repercussions from usage of their powers. but usually, those who use their powers without damage to property or endangerment of students will probably be left with a warning rather than a detention slip.

if my character is going from hero/neutral to a villain, is it possible to subtract their morality points and add it to another trait like strength or intelligence? or do i just subtract and have my total go down

the admins were talking and we’re still currently unsure of how properly explain what will happen in terms of points for when a character changes alignments but what was sure was if any alignment were to switch to a villain, their morality would indeed go down so points would be extracted -- and in the end, your s.i.m. ranking would go down because as you switch alignments, your rank class would change as well and of course, it wouldn’t be right to start off the bat at the equivalence of the current rank your character is in. but as of now, these terms may change so stay tuned for this !!

hello! i have two questions - how are the rules about smoking and driking on campus/in the dorms? and also how are the rules about leaving the campus? are students allowed to leave the campus during weekdays or/and on the weekends and go out in the city?

supposedly, as an academic institute they are very strict on students who smoke and drink ( but none of the professors really issue demerits or detentions if they see a student doing so in passing but some aren’t as lenient ) whether in campus or in the dorms. students are allowed to leave campus during the weekdays but only ( though some students, not all break this rule ) after the school day is over; students who do leave the school during the weekday or weekend can only leave by showing their student id at the gate through an electronic scanner to gain access in and out of the school. curfew on weekdays are at 11 and on weekends are at 2; at these times does the system lock the gates and reject access to anyone wishing to enter or leave the premises so make sure your student comes back in time !! those found to be out late after curfew and entering the school via morning when the system rejuvenates and allows entry at 5 every morning will be punished via detention or consequences given by the professor that has caught them.

i went over the rules multiple times, but i cant really understand the s.i.m and ranking thingy, can you maybe explain it a little more?^^'

The S.I.M. ( Strength, Intelligence, Morality ) is the total points which equals a student’s ranking at Deviance Optimum Academy. It is also where we, the admins, assign your character into a class ( there are five classes ) when you first enter the roleplay; so by a standpoint, other characters and roleplayers know about your character’s abilities even if they haven’t read a character’s background, just by knowing the ranking number, alignment and class. Specifically, it defines your character’s standing in their growth in either of the three alignments chosen at Deviance Optimum. Once a student exceeds the limit, they are eligible to go up a class, if they choose so, during the rank evaluations that are held once a month. do you allow characters with a kid? like single a parent.

hi there anon !! the answer to this question is actually dependent on a few criteria. a question of most concern for dvk is, will this child be on the academy grounds and expected to live at the school with the parental character in question? if so, we would also need to know information such as the age of the child and does the child posses the x gene as well? without knowing this, the initial answer is no seeing as most children at deviance optimum academy for the gifted youth are between the age of 11 to 22, with a minimum age of 16 in-character !!

if the technology from the common world is allowed does that mean the students at doa have social media?

yes !! since we are putting in play that the current technology known now ( ie. 2016 ), social media and all the current trends of today’s society is also applicable. but be wary that students who show their powers/abilities on their social media accounts may receive a call from the heroes’ association !! reminder: although the human population (those without powers) know about mutants, they do not know who is a mutant and who isn’t. they are only aware of the super hero/villains and their code-names as publicly made known by news stations and magazines. * if your character is going to have social media, please be sure to not have it overpower the number of threads/replies you do.

are there limitations on the ability to use powers at the academy? like are there rooms/areas where powers don't work, or are there rules of some sort? sorry if this is stated somewhere else already ;;

sorry for the absolutely long wait for this answer -- we wanted to make sure all the admins were all in agreement for this !! and don’t be sorry, this has yet to be asked or documented elsewhere on the main, so don’t fret, gray-one !! there are specific limitations on certain abilities at the academy: such as students who are gifted with flight can only fly to a certain height due to an invisible barrier that hovers over the school (the established height has yet to be revealed, but it is said to be very high -- one would run out of air first before approaching it), there are no large bodies of water anywhere at the school so those with powers that yield to large forms of liquid will only be able to do so from the sparse amounts that coat the grass and perhaps the water fountains that liter the landscape. the only room that is currently known to withstand and neutralize a student’s abilities is the detention room, the gymnasium and the rooms spared for the mimeo system. 

now for rules for the usage of a student’s ability are pretty much what you would expect: no use of a person’s powers to harm another student unless otherwise supervised, no (impractical) use of a student’s powers outside of a learning environment, no tampering with school system/building/landscape or structure with use of a student’s abilities, etc. we could go on with the specifics but we really would just love to leave it to your imagination. if you really want specifics, come to us off-anon and we’ll rattle off a good, very narrowing list (but -- us, admins, hate limiting creativity).

For plotting reasons, I have a question. What if one decided to stay out far past curfew? Are there consequences for it if they're caught?

sorry for the absolutely long wait for this answer -- we just wanted to get the curriculum page up before we made any commitments to a disciplinary system !! if one were to stay out past curfew, and get caught, they would be given detention -- depending on the severity of the situation and the excuse the student may try to escape with !! as this is a fun lil’ way to get characters in trouble and encourage interaction, there may be times the main will hand out ‘detention slips’ (aka ask messages) to students that misbehave in their threads ( don’t worry, it’s all for fun !! ), as one should know even at a superhuman school -- someone is always watching !!
