Valentine's Day themed CakeBox fan-skins :D 'cause if I don't make them, then who will

I actually had a lot of trouble with designing these- especially with the colors, I always struggle with picking color palettes- and I'm sure there are ways I could've done better, but I think they ended up so cute and I love them so much. I definitely plan on drawing them again (even though February is almost over so I probably won't finish anything until March, lol)

These are meant to act as matching couple skins- I wanted them to both have their own individual Valentine's themed inspirations (the Brach's conversation hearts boxes for Boxten, and the Little Debbie "Be My Valentine" mini cakes for Cosmo), while having a few small details from each others theme to sort of tie them together. I don't know how well any of my ideas really come across, but eh, I tried at least

I might make a few minor changes in the future, but overall I'm happy with how they turned out, and I hope you like them too

Humming could be heard from nearby as Boxten dutifully worked on a machine. He’d been asked by Cosmo, “Hey, you wanna go for a run with me? Pebble wants to come with to distract, so we should be able to get a lot done.” The way Cosmo had smiled at Boxten made him immediately agree, a smile on his square face.

The swiss roll was currently working on the other side of the wall from Boxten, able to see and hear him, though the sound was muffled. The sound of the first of four machines rang out through the room as Boxten stepped away. Cosmo, caught up with watching him, failed a necessary turn of the wheel - again. How lucky he was that Pebble decided to tag along.

After the fourth machine was finished, the elevator opened and the two Toons ran for it, calling out to Pebble once they got in.

The elevator closed behind them, and Cosmo watched as Boxten crouched to scratch Pebble’s head. The dog nuzzled into the touch, eyes closing as Dandy descended, ignored.

The elevator opened to the next floor, and Pebble ran out, barking to grab the attention of the Twisteds. Cosmo and Boxten followed the tiny rock, though at a slower pace. They completed the machines, got in the elevator, chose a buff, and went to the next floor.

And the next, and the next, and the next.

It was Floor 37 before an exhausted Cosmo worked up the courage to practice what he brought his musical friend for. “Hey, I really like you- no. That's not it… hey, will you be my boyfriend? No, no! That’s too forward! Ugh, why is this so hard!” Cosmo dropped his head, annoyed at himself for being so scared. It was just a question. Just a confession. The worst he can say is no… right?Pebble ran by, barking before circling. Oh, a heal. Pebble left after being rejuvenated, picking up a bottle of Poppy’s Pop. Cosmo finished his machine, walking to find the next. And the next. And the next.

Soon, it seemed, Cosmo, Boxten, and Pebble were on the 100th floor.

“Boxten! Can I, can I talk to you?,” Cosmo’s voice wavered. Boxten gave him a worried look, agreeing to talk. Pebble calmly leaves them to gather the Twisteds, seeming to understand that they needed some space.

“So… I was wondering, if, uh, if you'd, uh, do you like guys-? Wait- not what I meant to ask, uh, sorry. I mean-”

“I do like guys.”

“What?” Cosmo didn't expect Boxten to interrupt him, even if he'd been hoping to be interrupted.

“I like guys, Cosmo. Why do you ask?” His voice was gentle as Boxten looked at Cosmo carefully.

“Uh, well, you see, I was wondering if- if you wanted to be my boyfriend- onlyifyouwanttothough!”

“Hey, slow down, Cosmo. It's okay to slow down. You don't have to be so nervous,” Boxten chuckled, “I would love to be your boyfriend. Do you want to go back to Gardenview? I'm sure Pebble would love a break, poor dog.”

Cosmo could only nod through his shock, the disbelief that Boxten could be so calm about this. But he did it. He finally told Boxten his feelings, and he was rewarded for it.

The rest of his day was ecstasy.
